5.0 out of 5 stars An American Classic
Jackie the Jokeman Martling is the go to guy when it comes to classic one-liners, hilarious jokes, and biting observations. We pulled the book out at Christmas dinner and had everyone laughing and red-faced at jokes about Jewish child molesters, Eskimos and snowblowers, and guys in foxholes. This book lets us laugh at ourselves without the mean streak that can be evident in today's humor. How can you tell when a man is in love? He divorces his wife! Okay, the rest are really good. Keep the book in your back pocket. You'll make a lot of friends.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love You Jackie!, August 16, 1999

If you want to read an entertaining book that keeps you informed and laughing the whole way through, read this. If the Howard Stern show does not broadcast in your area and you want to enjoy some outrageous humor and get to know the man behind the bar of soap, this book is well written and is a good dose of the JOKEMAN! ENJOY!

Well, all I can say is Jackie's not really covering any new ground with his tome of filthy humor. I've heard just about every joke in this book from the 'Toke' Man's various CD releases and his monthly Joke Page in Penthouse magazine. And even then, I've seen many of the bits within published in other dirty joke books from decades past.

Actually, there is a certain advantage to reading the yuks rather than listening to Jackie tell them: I can read them at my own pace. On his CDs Jackie doles 'em out at a rapid-fire pace, and sometimes he'll break into laughter just trying to tell the whole story. At least with the book, I don't have to deal with these annoying characteristics.

Another good thing is, I don't have to listen to any of his songs either...

'Late

5.0 out of 5 stars Too Funny To Be Legal, January 15, 1999

The Jokeman is the best. Howard Stern's joke writing machine outdoes himself, flashing wit, and pickin fun at everyone, not discriminating by race, color, religion, sex, or creed.

4.0 out of 5 stars VERY FUNNY, VERY OFFENSIVE, NOT FOR EVERYONE, October 30, 1997
By A Customer
JACKIE MARTLING ATTACKS EVERY ETHNIC GROUP, EVERY RACE AND EVERY RELIGION. ALOT OF PEOPLE WILL BE OFFENDED BY THIS BOOK, BUT I LOVED IT. I'M SMILING ABOUT IT JUST WRITING THIS. IF YOU HAVE A PERVERSE SENSE OF HUMOR, GO FOR IT.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jackie has always been funnier than Hooknose, I told you!, June 28, 2000
This review is from: Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling's Disgustingly Dirty Joke Book (Paperback)
I always told you that my husband was funnier than Howard, this proves it to all of you. Jackie is the funniest man alive, always has been. My husband is not some old, retarded drunkm, that is a misconception, he knows how to make money, do you know how much we got making this book. Haha, the joke is on you. Robin is jealous, Howard is cheap, Fred is dangerous, Gary is ugly, Jackie makes the show and will also conquer the book world while I set my sights on Hollywood. F-Jackie, that F stands for Fenomenal, that's what my husband is. Tell Jessica if I ever see her I am going to scratch her eyes out!

This was the worst book I've ever read. Jackie should be fired. It's a good thing they don't allow us to give zero stars!

Signed, Robin Quivers

1.0 out of 5 stars Hello, and welcome back to fifth grade., April 3, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling's Disgustingly Dirty Joke Book (Paperback)
I'm a big fan of some of some of the most off color, raunchy, in-bad-taste humor there is, and a lot of these jokes were funny the first time I heard them... In grade school.

This book is nothing more than Blanche Knott's Truly Tasteless Jokes with a new cover, and really, that book isn't very funny once you hit puberty either.
