Grade 3-5 These graphic biographies give quick introductions to the lives of their subjects. The language is simple and age appropriate but uninspired, and undistinguished drawings and layouts detract from what should be more absorbing narratives. Robinson contains some sloppy errors: Joe Louis's name is misspelled once, and elsewhere the book states unclearly, and perhaps misleadingly, that the United States began fighting in World War II in 1942.
