OMG!! I'm retired Army (MALE) and I teared up while watching with my wife-sad that she had to die on the show due to her "real life" alcohol problems. I hope she get's the help she so desperately needs and has a support group. Too early to cast our vote on the "new cast members". But the reality is that we get transferred approximately every 3 years-so the show is true to Army life! Hope the show continues (with good scripts) as it brings back memories of our 23 years in the ARMY (my wife gets much credit as she was my ROCK during many tough deployments). Gotta love Army Wives!!!!

This season started with such promise: a new set of characters to reinvigorate the daily happenings in the army wives community. The season starts with the memorial service for a dearly loved lead character and cameo appearances from some of the other main characters from the preceding 6 seasons. This was sad but the new characters, including Brooke Shields, were beginning to establish a new regime.

Unfortunately, it was all cut too short after 13 episodes.

For those who have watched the first 6 seasons, it goes without saying you will watch this end to a great series. The speed with which they raced through some of the story lines and the premature cessation to the season left me feeling a little flat.

I spent 2 weeks watching seasons 1-6. Then I just HAD to go to Amazon to see the first 10 episodes of season 7, so I can start watching episodes as they air this Sunday! This series is absolutely addicting.

This review is for the entire series, not just Season 7. There was much about the series, particularly the early seasons, that I did not like. The "ABC Family" style script, the over-the-top artificial smiles, and the backing music. I really like Catherine Bell, and she the was the anchor and the glue that held the series together. As a man, the "Lifetime" way of portraying men as idealized one-dimensional characters also bothered me. But the show improved over time, and the $1 per episode price I paid for all the seasons was a reasonable price, given the show's short-comings.

They finally had some of the characters move. It was starting to seem way too artificial having them all there for six years.
The only woman on that show that I really liked and admired was Joan. She and Roland made a fantastic couple.
My second favorite is Pamela.
Didn't really care too much for any of the others.

I would have given this 5 stars, but the cast changed so much, it was not the same. I love the original. I am still glad I purchased it. I didn't expect it to have anymore seasons after this. It was a great series for six years. I will miss the original series, but now I have it all on DVD. I have already watched it three times. I love it. I would recommend it. I learned a lot about life in the service for the wives, family, friends, the servicemen, the politics, and I found it to be quite interesting. A good Buy.
