About the Author

Richard Neumann is a retired Marine aviator and a Fedex pilot. Born and raised in Michigan, he currently lives in Montana, where he is busy at work on his next novel.

More About the Author

Richard Neumann Jr. was born and raised in Michigan. While growing up he participated in baseball and Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Michigan Technological University, where he earned degrees in Electrical Engineering and Forestry. After college he elected to join the Marine Corps to become a pilot. He flew the A4 Skyhawk and served over 15 years earning early retirement in 1994. In 1993, he started working for Fedex, where he has flown the B727, DC10, and MD11 throughout the US, Europe, Asia, Mexico, Canada, and South America. He even did an around the world trip in 6 days.

Currently, he lives in Helena, Montana where he is the proud father of two wonderful kids. His youngest child is autistic, which is why he donates to the Autism Research Institute and why he usually features an autistic character in his stories.

Past glories always make one nostalgic. "Jack's Last Promise" is the story of one Nick Adams, who lives what is termed as an ideal life. But a crisis occurs, and he's left looking back to a close uncle and his promise. When a reunion of his old ball team occurs, he must face questions about his formerly certain future."Jack's Last Promise" is a moving and poignant read, highly recommended.

This is a wonderful story! It's set in 1989 and flashes back to 1969, when the main character was part of a state championship pony league baseball team. Everyone who has played or plays baseball will enjoy the story and find it very fulfilling. Everyone who grew up in the 60s and 70s will find it especially entertaining and inspiring--a trip down memory lane. Sometimes you have to look at the past to find answers for the future. Highly recommended!
