wonderful melancholy folk,
This review is from: Jackson C Frank (Audio CD)
jackson c. frank is right up the alley of anyone who likes nick drake, bert janzch, robert jonhson and so on. many of his songs are simply him fingerpicking an acoustic guitar and singing over it with his haunting world-weary voice. definately a good addition to any folk collection, but still worth checking out if you're a neophyte to the genre.

What a voice Frank had. I really dig these unique voices that these artists wanted to share with the people. I am honored to have bought this cd because pretty much every song on here gives me goose bumps when I hear them. My favorites are like "Milk and Honey" (Which Sandy Denny redid which sounds AMAZING!!!) and "My Name Is Carnival", "Just Like Anything", "Kimbie" and of course "Blues Run The Game." Sadly he passed away but his music is still here for us and that voice of his can get through to anyone. If anyone is into folk, blues and someone with just his amaing voice and acoutic guitar than I would recommend this for sure!!! This is just a really good listen if you just want to relax and listen to some good mellow music and of course that voice of his just always gives me goosebumps!!! I give this one 5 stars, worth buying for sure!!!

I can't say anything about Jackson C. Frank that hasn't already been sead. He was a powerful song writer, a solid guitarist and a passable singer. It's his influence on Paul Simon, Bert Jansch, Neal Young and countless others that makes him an integral piece in the history of folk music here and in England.
