Book Description

Ghosts, Mystery, and Fashion. Can this diva solve her own murder, or will she be stuck in limbo forever?

After recovering from the shock of seeing her own dead body, (still dressed to kill from last night’s party) fashion model, Jaclyn Jade, discovers she’s a ghost with a choice. She can either immediately go back to Hell, do nothing and stay in limbo, or find the reason she fell short of grace and advance to Heaven.

Because she was murdered, Jaclyn hopes that finding her killer will unravel this mystery. With the help of a timid closet-psychic who can speak to the dead, and a handsome, yet arrogant, ghost of a man from the roaring 20s, her search for answers initiates a quirky journey of self-discovery. Personalities, eras, and worlds collide as this mismatched trio race against time to solve the mystery of Jaclyn’s Ghost.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mysterious Ghost Story May 4, 2011
By Lisa F.
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Jaclyn wakes up to find a strange man in her room. She is confused and then finds out that she is dead and that the man is another ghost. His name is Logan and he lives in her apartment building.

Jaclyn was a fashion model and had a lucrative career. She finds out that she was murdered and decides not to continue on in "hell", living lifetime after lifetime to try to qualify for entry into heaven. She has a chance to redeem herself and figure out what she did wrong and enter into heaven.

Logan, the handsome and helpful ghost, volunteers to help her. They find a medium named Morgan and the three of them investigate who killed her and why Jaclyn was murdered.

Mystery, romance, redemption, and friendship run through the pages of this book. It is cute, clean, and will leave you with a smile on your face. I enjoyed Dorlann's writing style. It is easy to follow and she makes the characters believable, even though they are ghosts. It is fun and fast. I was hooked right from the beginning and she kept my attention until the end.

I received a copy of this book to review from the author. She gifted me a copy through by kindle. Many thanks for sharing this book with me Dorlana. It was well worth my time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jaclyn's Ghost November 14, 2011

Jaclyn's Ghost

My favorite reading is paranormal mystery, suspense. I do not care much for heavy romance in a mystery and this book had the right amount and did not overdo it. I enjoyed this book immensely. I love the author's style, characters, and depth. This book gives food for thought regarding our personal beliefs and fears regarding what happens after we die and leave our physical bodies for the unknown. I personally agree with much the author suggests regarding the weighing and measuring of our soul's growth and being 'welcomed' into Heaven. If you are looking for an 'easy-read', comfortable, laid-back story that keeps you reading, laughing, cheerleading for the undead....this book is for you. I read this in a day and was sorry when the book ended. Some books keep your emotional volume high, this did not, but I enjoyed every word and highly recommend this to those who enjoy paranormal and have belief systems toward more 'new age' concepts.

4.0 out of 5 stars My review of Jaclyn's Ghost January 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I read this book in 24 hours. It was one of the free books offered by Amazon so I thought I would give it a chance. Mysteries are my favorite and throw a little paranormal in the mix and it makes for an interesting read. The author put a lot of thought into the personalities of the characters. I understood who all the characters were and their place in the story.

I will say that Jaclyn was hard to feel sorry for. I don't begrudge anyone getting into Heaven, but I can see why she did not make it the first go around. I stuck with this story because I liked the depth of Logan and Morgan's characters. I felt sorry for both of them as both have been all to familiar with isolation most of their lives. These two characters brought much needed warmth to the story.

I got a kick out of the old couple, Herman and June, helping the two ghosts. What an adventure they had! I will always wonder if they made it back home safely.

It would be nice to see a sequel. And it would be nice to see Morgan helping her detective boyfriend on cases.

If you are looking for a mystery, paranormal, romance - then this is your book. Enjoy a quick get away and relax. I also appreciate the fact that this book had a clean story line and was not trashy. I think this would appeal to young adults as well. Kudos to the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inventive, Creative and Fascinating December 18, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Jaclyn's dead, murdered in the prime of her life, at the height of her career, but Jaclyn doesn't want to go to hell, which isn't what you think it is, so Jaclyn has a set amount of time to figure out what she missed in her life that kept her from going straight to heaven.

Along comes Logan a fellow ghost who is dashing and helpful. He lives in Jaclyn's apartment building and is willing to help Jaclyn figure out what went wrong. The best place to start? Find her killer.

Only nothing is as simple as it seems to be. Finding Jaclyn's killer is a complex process that requires creativity on the part of Logan and Jaclyn and the help of a photographer who can hear Jaclyn, Logan and other ghosts.

I really enjoyed the way Ms. Vann approached her story. It was creative and new. Jaclyn's Ghost held my attention from the start and had me rooting for Jaclyn and Logan as they tried to discover what had happened to Jaclyn. Ms. Vann throws several interesting complications into the story line that keep the tension going. The story was well-developed and resonated with me,

I would recommend Jaclyn's Ghost to anyone looking for an interesting paranormal/mystery read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Ghost Story!! October 21, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed reading Jaclyn's Ghost from beginning until the end.

Wonderfully written and has a great story line.

It starts out with Jaclyn waking up in her room to find a strange man named Logan standing there. She doesn't understand why he's there. She sees someone sleeping on her bed with the same designer shoes on that she does. She pulls down the covers and looks into her face. She's dead and doesn't understand how.

A man named Charles comes and takes her to his office. He wants her to sign paper's so she can go back to hell (which he calls earth) and be born again. She really doesn't know what she should do.
Logan told her not to sign anything.

Jaclyn decides to find out who killed her and why, so she can go to heaven.

She gets Logan, a human named Morgan, and some more ghost's to help her along on her journey. She learns about friendship, forgiveness, and love.

I would really love to find out if Logan ever makes it to heaven and more about the other characters. 5-stars.
