it is clear that Contributions to The Champion is an invaluable edition to Fielding scholarship, excellently researched, superbly contextualized, and beautifully presented. Oxford is to be commended for resisting the idea that a challenge is bad, or that scholarship always needs an immediate application, and to be praised for keeping the Wesleyan Edition going in such high quality.
