I actually bought this watch on [...]for $299 and used an additional 20% discount code, so the price was $260. Even at $419, which is Amazon's current price, this watch is a bargain. The sapphire crystal is remarkably clear and a watch with this many complications normally costs many thousands of dollars. Everything about the watch has a nice, high quality look and feel to it.

When engaging the chrono function, the smooth sweep of the different hands and dials looks great and seems to have a high level of precision. Honestly, the minute repeater function sounds a little cheesy, but it's an interesting feature normally reserved for very expensive watches. The minute repeater can be set independently from the main dials, so you can repeat the time in a different timezone even as the watch is showing another time.

The genuine alligator band and deployment clasp also appear to be of good quality.

Overall, this is a fantastic watch at an almost unbelievable price. They are becoming increasing hard to find, especially in black. Only 1000 were made in each color and they are individually numbered on the back of the case.

I bought this watch on Amazon. It was a replacement for an old $350 Pulsar chronograph. This watch is leaps and bounds better in quality, and offers many more features for only slightly more. I have always wanted a chronograph with a moon phase indicator, but this watch also includes a perpetual calendar that takes care of varying days in the month and leap year through the year 2100 automatically. It also has a really cool minute repeater function that chimes the time at the touch of a button. All these complications are usually only available in Very, Very expensive mechanical watches, which are also high maintenance. If you don't wear your mechanical watch for a few days, you need to reset all the time, date, day, month, year... information before you can wear it. Since the Jacques Lemans watch is battery powered, you can switch watches as you need with out the pain of resetting this watch before wearing it, and of course battery powered quartz watches are like 100 times more precise than mechanical watches. The alligator band and clasp are much nicer than the cheap leather band on my old watch, and the overall fit and finish is great.

This is a limited edition watch with only 1000 pieces in each color. I liked the black color/style best. It can easily be worn as a dress or casual watch, though brown or blue may suit your wardrobe better. In any event I highly recommend this "poor man's" high end chronograph. I should also mention it comes in a nice blond wood inner box, and a padded outer box that would make a great gift presentation.
