Good Plot,
This review is from: Jada (Paperback)
While I enjoyed the story-line, I had difficulty reading between the numerous typos. This book could benefit from a better editor.

Really a two-star disappointment,
This review is from: Jada (Paperback)
This novella gets one star for poor writing and 3 stars for an okay story. The editing and proofing earn a minus one because there are too many typos/misspellings and no one told Alexander that there isn't enough emotion to grab the reader and pull us into the story - which is pedestrian. Alexander deserves her "props" for giving us a young, black, professional lesbian. Unfortunately, I could care less what happens to her.

Jada and the Drama - 3.5 stars,

If I had three words to describe JADA, author Denise Alexander's debut novel, it would be: no more drama!Alexander's tale is the semi-erotic tale of Jada Williams, a sexy diva in a new relationship with femme Shanice. Jada, who's only out to her friends, has been in the life for a few years, and thinks she has finally met the perfect woman. After meeting at a club, the two hit it off and get pretty serious after a couple of months. Both Jada and Shanice have previously been dead-end relationships that took tolls on their souls. Jada learned she can't be something she's not to please others, while Shanice survived endured an abusive affair. They lean on each other and try to trust again, though it's not easy. Everything is peachy for the pair until Shanice loses her job. Jada soon learns the real Shanice is ugly -- and it takes something piercing for Jada to realize that Shanice is not as perfect as she seems. Alexander is a good storyteller, I'll give her that. But Jada moves too quickly to for the reader to get a real hold of the characters. The novel's namesake comes off kind of immature and shallow at times, and the couple's problems seem to be easily solved with sex. The grammatical errors also take away from the tale, too. However, I do recommend Jada for lazy afternoon read -- one that starts off good but ends too swiftly.

THRILLING READ!,
This review is from: Jada (Paperback)
I COULDN'T PUT THIS BOOK DOWN. THE AUTHOR DESERVES TWO THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE! FROM THE VERY BEGINNING THE CHARACTERS SEEMED SO AUTHENTIC AND REAL. EVEN THE MAIN CHARACTER,SHANICE, WHO LATER BECOMES VIOLENT IS EASY TO LIKE. THE WAY THE AUTHOR WRITES THAT PART IS SO ORIGINAL. UNLIKE THE USUAL HARSH, DESPICABLE DEPICTIONS OF ABUSERS, DENISE CHOOSES AN ORIGINAL APPROACH. FIRST SHE MAKES YUOU FALL IN LOVE WITH SHANICE THE SAME WAY JADA DOES, THEN SHE SHOWS YOU THE OTHER SIDE OF SHANICE. BY THE END OF THE BOOK I UNDERSTOOD WHY IT'S SO HARD FOR JADA OR ANYONE IN AN ABUSIVE SITUATION.

I don't really like the whole lesbian thing, so I was hesistant about reading this book but trust me, the sex scenes are HOT, HOT, AND MO HOT. But on a deeper level the book was really good. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick read.

The synopsis given sounds engaging, but I quickly lost interest with the many typos and the way it was written. Come on! You're a writer! Don't be so cavalier with the grammar rules!! Please! I'm not sure if the book was good or not because the style of writing quicly got on my nerves so much so that I'm returning it for a refund having only read the first 5 pages. If you're looking for a good read, this isn't it.

To short, to fast paced and not that great. Good for a few hours worth of reading on a Saturday afternoon.

This is a straight to the point read. Throughout the book the author brings out thoughts of most females when it come to the trivial sayings of being "stictly dickly."Jada has this tantilizing and luscious girlfriend Shanice. Shanice has a broken past and tries to walk forward with Jada. Jada tries and helps Shanice with her hard times but starts to crumble with frustration. Can Shanice overcome her past? or Can Jada deal with the way Shanice has become? A quick good read and reccomended to past time with this interesting story.

This book was okay. The plot was different and it kept my interest. The story should've been longer though and I thought the author could have made the plot evolve slower. I'd still recommend this book though.
