Obviously this is the second Jagged Alliance title and luckily it proved to be just as entertaining as the first. It's one of the few games I've ever played where the makeup of your team (you get to choose which mercs to hire, and when you're finally able to afford to man two teams--necessary due to injuries you will sustain--you get to choose who fights with whom, and not all mercs get along with one another, and they'll let you know) has an impact on how you play the game. The story is very well thought out, the graphics are a bit 20th century, but the game is one for the ages.

The biggest mistake, not so much in making the game itself, but in Microsoft's "Vista", is the inability to play several games, including this one. So, if all you have is Vista, save your money. The game IS good enough, however, that I took the time to rifle through old computers of mine and slapped together a working version of XP with an old P4 chip.

For the price, it's an absolute steal. This game gave me likely 60 hours of fun. That's about $0.17 per hour of game play. You can't beat that with a stick!

Jagged Alliance 2 was the best in a series of great turn-based strategy titles. The mercs in this game have tons of personality, and can interact with one another in interesting and often humorous ways. The combat can be pummeling, but rewarding. If you like turn based games, look no further. Go to Arulco and take it back.
