4.0 out of 5 stars a very smooth, not jagged cd, June 10, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Jagged Era (Audio CD)
the first jagged edge song I heard happened to be "keys to the range" off their second album. It got to me, so I picked up the cd. loving it so much, I picked up their debut album A Jagged Era without ever hearing a single song off it. and I love it as much.

To me, jagged edge reminds me of jodeci, the r&b group that was around back in the early 90's. J.E.'s music, J.E.'s style, sounds like it could have came from jodeci. and that's not a bad thing at all.

favorites of mine are "I gotta be","wednesday lover", and "the rest of our lives". these songs get to me everytime I hear them. I think about that special someone and smile; songs that can do that are rare and hard in these times of booty shaking, thong wearing music that populate the airwaves.

anyone who loves r&b will be very happy with this purchase. give it a listen, sing along with it if you want. it'll leave you feeling satisfied.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who Can Top Jagged Edge, April 13, 2002
By
This review is from: Jagged Era (Audio CD)
I bought this cd a long while ago and it still gets major airplay. When I first heard this group and their single "Gotta Be" I was speechless because the song and their vocals were right on time. We needed a good male group and they were the ones because years later they are still standing strong and no one can top them. Sorry young ladies!!! B2K is not even close. This cd is really good. My favorites are.......Addicted to your Love, I Gotta Be, Wednesday Lover and Funny How. One Love.

1.0 out of 5 stars Snoozeville For Me, June 2, 2006
This review is from: Jagged Era (Audio CD)
Jagged Edge came out in a big way with A Jagged Era. The only reason I bought this was for the one song that came out which was "I Gotta Be". Initially, I was not impressed with this album because it showed no roundness of any sort. Bottom line-
these guys could sing you to your grave if you let them. I'm not hating, these brothas can saaaaaaaaang, but give me some variety. They only had one fast tune on this whole cd. I like variety and they did not provide me with that. Singing is off da hook, productions are mediocre and that plummets my stars down to one. I like to feel sexy and comfortable, not sleepy.
Grade: F
