The One Jaguar Book For Your Library,
By David C. Hobson, DDS (Provo, UT) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jaguar, the Classic Marque: Distingusihing Coachwork Features (Hardcover)
Steve Kennedy, former president of the Jaguar Clubs of North America, has written the best single book on the Jaguar Marque I have ever seen. Authors like Jaguar archivist Andrew Ditters Clausager has done an excellent job on series specific books, such as his books on XK120 and XK140/150, but if you want one single book which covers Jaguar with excellent photos, details on production changes, serial numbers, color and trim options, production numbers, and what was offered in a given year to retail customers, this is, in my opinion, head and shoulders above any other Jaguar book currently availabale on the market. Are you interested in a particular Jaguar model. This book will have several photos of interior, exterior, and engine compartment except possibly in cases of the earliest pre-WW II production and a handful of one-offs. The book is obviously a labor of love by the author, and must be the result of a lifetime collection of Jaguar facts and information. I have over 2 dozen Jaguar-related books in my library, but this is by far my favorite. There are less expensive books out there on Jaguar. There are books which go into more detail about the evolution and production of a single model. But as a compilation of all that is Jaguar in a single volume, this has to be the best compilation available. |
