Like the car it describes, this one by Denis Jenkinson on the Jaguar XK-E is a jewel. After two Jaguar XK-E's and 15 years Denis Jenkinson says in the context of his time times were changing and not for the better. Remember during WWII Denis Jenkinson was a Research Engineer in the British R.A.F. during a time when germans were trying to kill english.Somehow english managed to survive and produce a graceful and glamorous car in spite of Lucas Industrial Lighting which came to be known as "The Prince of Darkness." If James Michener wrote the Bible on Hawaii then Denis Jenkinson wrote the Bible on the Jaguar XK-E. |
