This shifting cable seems to be at least what they put on your typical mountain bike. No complaints with product quality. My bike is a 20" frame and gee wow there wasn't an inch to spare of this to connect from my shifters to my deraileurs. Really, I sure could have used a couple of more inches actually to feel good about the angles I made. You might have a different experience but if I really wanted to have everything I needed for sure to build another bike, I might buy 2 packs of this next time. The bike shifts fine but I measured carefully and cut once with no trimming slack at all. This must be real expensive for them to have it so skimpy. Plenty of ends and what not to make a clean install. If you have breaks in your shifting cable to save weight, you will be fine with one pack. But if you are running the casing all the way from the shifter to the deraileur on both lines, it will be a photo finish with just one pack. Hope this helps you if you plan to build your bike on a work night at 1 am like I did because UPS arrived at 9:30pm with the missing pieces and you are excited. Also, it is a bear to cut this stuff. I didn't want to buy the $30 tool to cut it and was thinking later that maybe I should have for the single cut. Have a file handy to clean up the cut ends. It took 3 different wire cutters and a hand granade to cut this stuff.

Amazing cables! Work so much better than my old ones, which were rusted in the casing. My bike gets all sorts of looks with the green casing for my derailleurs. Highly recommend this product.
