Jagwire Rubber Coated Mini Inline Adjusters, White

I've used various incarnations of these inline adjusters on many bikes. I've used them both with Shimano and SRAM setups where frames have no downtube cable stops. These are easy to grab by feel, the rubber coating especially makes them managable with my winter gloves on, and the white color match to the jagwire cables makes for a clean look. 4 Stars only because the included ferrules are REALLY hard to get onto Jagwire cable, and if you don't press hard, you can wind up installing them, adjusting derailleurs, and having the adjustment go out a few miles later when the shifters compress the housing/ferrules together the rest of the way (making your cable tension lower)

I bought these inline cable adjusters for my Giant OCR which doesn't have downtube frame-mount adjusters like Trek and Cannondale. They appear an elegant solution to the problem and when positioned next to the STI shifters, allow easy access on the fly. I found after a couple of adjustments that a) the range of adjustment is very limited and b) the threads within the adjusters seize or cross-thread very easily. They could have manufactured built-in stops for the adjusters, because once they're backed completely out, are essentially done as they cross-thread very easily when you try to re-insert them. This is even with tension off the cables.

Bottom line - there's a reason why there's a new model (J2). Let's hope they fixed this problem in those.

I am very to have discovered this in-line cable adjustment. When installing I think it is best to also put in a new cable, but otherwise this is very easy to install in a number of locations and provides a way to tweak perfect shifting on the go.

Really nice, compact package. the only reason they didn't get 5 stars is the lack of detentes in the adjustment. Other than that, they work and look great.
