This review is from: Jake's Progress - Original Music from the Channel Four Series (Audio CD)
It's hard to tell how much Costello had to do with this soundtrack although there are several telling signs of his influence. The selections are by turns comic, melodramatic, baroque and spooky. Some of them could be mistaken for backing tracks to "Spike" or "Mighty Like a Rose". It certainly proves that Elvis has the musician's heart and blood and can make a better classical album than Paul McCartney or Billy Joel.
