This review is from: Jake's Run (Paperback)
I liked the book. I know a little about that part of the world (New England). Jake's Run captures today's New England perfectly and makes it fun to read. Prepare to laugh!

Eagerly awaiting the next book, December 10, 2010
This review is from: Jake's Run (Paperback)
This book is a wonderful, old fashioned romp in rural Vermont. It gives a little insight to some of the older ways and viewpoints, but still is modern and up-to-date. Mr Mahoney crafts a humorous tale of a escaped bull and the affects he has on the townspeople (native and townies alike) as well as his "owner" (can anyone really own a bull?). The scene of Jake galloping (do bulls gallop?) through the town green during a "fair" was hilarious, I could not stop laughing.
I loved this book so much, I gave it as christmas presents to quite a few of my family members- my mother, who grew up on a farm in Vermont in the 50s, loved it.
If you need a good laugh or like reading about rural Vermont, this is the book for you
