Top on the list for 2005 Christmas gift..,

I bought this item for my 3 year old daughter and she loves it. Her room was one of her less favorite places in the house, until this game arrived. It has so many different cool adventures that she can't seem to put it down, it keeps her entertained for hours.
This game includes: Dig Dig Dig.. A tunnel through dirt and stones and reach the bottom before Swiper the fox. Steer clear of the reaaly big rocks! River River Race Adventure.. How quickly can you race Swiper the Fox down the river? Saltador, the jumping star will help you jump over frogs, crocodiles and whirlpools. Rainbow Balloon Race... Sail across the sky rescuing stars and butterflies from Swipers bubble machine. Avoid the grumpy rain clouds along the way! Puzzle Bridge Repair... Oh,no! Swiper the Fox has remove pieces of the bridge and mix them up. Will you help return each piece?. Another cool thing about this game is that up to 4 players can play to help solve puzzles, win races and stop Swiper the fox. This game is early childhood intended for children 5 and older. My 3 year old has her 10 and 9 year old sisters on her side to help her along the way. This game was definately worth it and I would highly recommend to all who are thinking of purchasing one. This is definately going to be one of the most requested for Christmas so dont wait till it's sold out buy now.

i just bought this for my daughters 3rd bday and she loves it. the grafics are good considering that its just a plug in and play game. good quality though. the games are easy enough for her to understand and its already midnight and i still cant get her off. i would recomend this to any parent. also teaches shapes and matching plus taking turns and sharing. it has a built in board game..

I've searched everywhere for a video game that is suitable for my 4 year-old. This game was just fine for about 1 week. After that the replay value dropped from an hour to about 5 minutes, before being bored. She really only likes 2 of the 5 games and I agree. The two of the three she doesn't like are INCREDIBLY easy and the other game, "Up the Water Spout" is surprising hard.
There are no instructions, so you have to figure out every move through trial & error. Which can be frustrating for a 4 year-old. I also bought this game for the ability to plug in additional "Game Key" hardware to add more games. However, the company no longer makes these keys and I haven't been able to find a used one anywhere. It was a good purchase for about 10 days.

We just bought this for our three year old granddaughter for Christmas. (she will be four in January). She loved it. She also has a little brother (1) and it was something that she could do all by herself while mommy had to feed brother. The biggest hit was she had her video game just like daddys. The only problem that we have found with it is we can not find the key that they talk about on the package to get more games. This is troubling because other video games now come with two keys . Dora you have to buy the key seperate and not everyone has them not even toys r us. But I would still buy this Dora game .My granddaugther loves it.

I think the age requirement is ages 5 and up. Well, I bought this for my 2 year old and she loves it. It's very simple and easy for her to use. It only requires simple button pushing and a little movement from Map (joystick). The games are great. Very simple but there really is no losing except maybe when you're playing against Swiper. But that happens rarely. The game makes things easier to have a better chance at winning. For example, the rowing boat race. You just gotta push buttons to jump over frogs. At the end, even if Swiper is ahead, his boat slows down, giving you a chance to catch up and take the win. In the matching game, if you can't find a match after several tries, it takes away 2 cards to make it easier. If you still can't find a match, it'll take 2 more cards away. My 2 year old just picks any card but after several tries and less cards, eventually she'll get a pair.
As for the educational value. I only gave it 3 stars. Just for the numbers being said in spanish on the board game as you move up to 4 paces and for the memory matching game. Overall, I think a 2 year old would enjoy it especially being a Dora fan. My 5 year old finds it way too easy but still likes playing because of rarely losing.

We got this for my not-yet-four year old to play on a long car trip with her portable dvd player. Opened it today to familiarize her with the games and she loved it - played it with me for a good 30 minutes. Some of the fine points of the games were a little beyond her, such as avoiding when possible the diggable rocks in Dig, Dig, Dig, but she got the basic concept of all the games so easily that we did not look at the instructions, and was even able to beat Swiper several times.
I think this toy will continue to hold her interest for another year as long as we don't play it every day, and I noticed Amazon sells the game keys that hold 2 more games for $9.99(Plug & Play TV Games GAME KEY 2 NEW GAMES Nick Jr. DORA the Explorer). The box says for children 5+ years - personally, I think a six year old might find these games too easy/boring. My daughter did get bored with the shape bridges because there were so many of them before you were done, but she really liked the other games, especially the river race.

In the past 4 months, we played with this twice. It has poor graphics and slow response time. I really didn't expect a whole lot for the price, but the pictures are grainy and hardly recognizable. It isn't exciting and my daughter learns more watching the show. I am disappointed since I really hoped for a little better in this kind of game.

The controller is incredibly sturdy, and will stand the test of your child.
Including your child's favorite characters from the show, (all the way from Isa to Diego!!) this plug-and-play consists of 4 mini-games played board game style. The games involve a balloon action stage, a digging stage, and a canoe stage all involving beating Swiper Fox, as well as shape puzzles. Frantic fun for your toddler! It is a GREAT game for 2-4 year olds, and with such a short learning curve (courtesy of Dora, naturally), they'll be recognizing hexagons in no time!

I bought it for my 3-year old daughter who was excited to play at first but after trying different games for a few minutes she said it was boring and never wanted to play again.
I checked it myself and it is extremely primitive and boring. |
