This review is from: Jakks - Laser Challenge Radar Extreme (Toy)
I have the Laser Challenge Team Force 2 from a couple years ago, and I recently dug it out of my closet to find that it was really fun. My neighbor and my brother and I decided to buy 2 new sets so we all could play at the same time. After perusing the stats about the three newest sets- Gotcha Extreme, Team Force 2k, and Radar Extreme. In the end, LC Radar Extreme beat the others bye a long shot! Here's why:Radar Extreme Pros- 1) 25 shot clip 2) Automatic or semi-auto functions 3) Silent option 4) Numbers 1,2, and 3 added together gets you, basically, a silenced uzi 5) Team functions ie. no friendly fire 6) Max Blast, which, after your blaster has been on for 30 seconds and it becomes accessible, registers 3 hits for the trouble of 1. The only drawback is you can only use the Max Blast 3 times a game (but if your friends don't catch you resetting your blaster...) 7) Blast Shield, which, after you vest has been on for 30 seconds and it becomes accessible, you have 5 seconds to get the hell out of there. The only drawback for this function is that you can only use it 3 times, and your friends will know if you reset your vest. 8) Radar warning, which, in TEAM BATTLE ONLY, your vest beeps when the opposing team has you in their sights. 9) This bad boy boasts a 350 foot range that allows snipers, like myself, to waste your friends from a good distance. Just find a well hidden sniper's nest, and you'll find your buddies ducking for cover from unexpected laser fire. Now for the cons- 1) The On/Off Barrell Switch must be between the silent and non-silent for the blaster to be "off." 2) The gun is angled. Look at the pictures and you'll see what I mean. Basically the Team Challenge 2000 has only six shots and no other features that makes it worth buying; it'd be a good game for younger kids. The Gotcha Extreme is teathered together, and you need to know codes--that just .... In conclusion, the Radar Extreme is by far the best buy of the Laser Challenge series.

an exalent adition to the laser challenge family. i will run through a couple of it's features for you:1. one of the bad things about this is the radar. don't let your imagenation get ya! there is no radar that guides you to your opponent. it is simply somthing that lights up on your vest when your enamy has you in his sites. 2.the lights on the vest are very cool! 3. nice sounds! 4.you can play on teams! when turning the gun on hold down B or A for team mode. 5. all the buttens are very well labeled. it will not take very long for you to figure this out. 6. 25 shots per reload! if you hold down the trigger you get an automatic fireing mode! 7. the max blast.after your weapon has been on for awhile you will here a tone indicateing that your max blast is available. press the butten on the back and the next time you shoot it will register as 3 hits on the enamys vest! 9(i don't like the number 8). the shielding! you can use a shield by pushing a butten on the vest! it's pretty cool with the sounds and lights. 10. it has a good 350 foot range. do not hesatate to contact me asking for more details. i will gladly help you out.

This review is from: Jakks - Laser Challenge Radar Extreme (Toy)
This toy is inferior to the earlier Laser Challenge V2 series. The "radar" feature is seriously flawed, making the guns unreliable and causing the sensor units to react erratically. Don't buy this set -- but rather find the Laser Challenge V2 set which has 350 ft. range, Max blast and blast shield, tough/reliable guns and far superior front and back sensors.
