I have the Laser Challenge Team Force 2 from a couple years ago, and I recently dug it out of my closet to find that it was really fun. My neighbor and my brother and I decided to buy 2 new sets so we all could play at the same time. After perusing the stats about the three newest sets- Gotcha Extreme, Team Force 2k, and Radar Extreme. In the end, LC Radar Extreme beat the others bye a long shot! Here's why:Radar Extreme Pros- 1) 25 shot clip 2) Automatic or semi-auto functions 3) Silent option 4) Numbers 1,2, and 3 added together gets you, basically, a silenced uzi 5) Team functions ie. no friendly fire 6) Max Blast, which, after your blaster has been on for 30 seconds and it becomes accessible, registers 3 hits for the trouble of 1. The only drawback is you can only use the Max Blast 3 times a game (but if your friends don't catch you resetting your blaster...) 7) Blast Shield, which, after you vest has been on for 30 seconds and it becomes accessible, you have 5 seconds to get the hell out of there. The only drawback for this function is that you can only use it 3 times, and your friends will know if you reset your vest. 8) Radar warning, which, in TEAM BATTLE ONLY, your vest beeps when the opposing team has you in their sights. 9) This bad boy boasts a 350 foot range that allows snipers, like myself, to waste your friends from a good distance. Just find a well hidden sniper's nest, and you'll find your buddies ducking for cover from unexpected laser fire. Now for the cons- 1) The On/Off Barrell Switch must be between the silent and non-silent for the blaster to be "off." 2) The gun is angled. Look at the pictures and you'll see what I mean. Basically the Team Challenge 2000 has only six shots and no other features that makes it worth buying; it'd be a good game for younger kids. The Gotcha Extreme is teathered together, and you need to know codes--that just .... In conclusion, the Radar Extreme is by far the best buy of the Laser Challenge series.

an exalent adition to the laser challenge family. i will run through a couple of it's features for you:1. one of the bad things about this is the radar. don't let your imagenation get ya! there is no radar that guides you to your opponent. it is simply somthing that lights up on your vest when your enamy has you in his sites. 2.the lights on the vest are very cool! 3. nice sounds! 4.you can play on teams! when turning the gun on hold down B or A for team mode. 5. all the buttens are very well labeled. it will not take very long for you to figure this out. 6. 25 shots per reload! if you hold down the trigger you get an automatic fireing mode! 7. the max blast.after your weapon has been on for awhile you will here a tone indicateing that your max blast is available. press the butten on the back and the next time you shoot it will register as 3 hits on the enamys vest! 9(i don't like the number 8). the shielding! you can use a shield by pushing a butten on the vest! it's pretty cool with the sounds and lights. 10. it has a good 350 foot range. do not hesatate to contact me asking for more details. i will gladly help you out.

This toy is inferior to the earlier Laser Challenge V2 series. The "radar" feature is seriously flawed, making the guns unreliable and causing the sensor units to react erratically. Don't buy this set -- but rather find the Laser Challenge V2 set which has 350 ft. range, Max blast and blast shield, tough/reliable guns and far superior front and back sensors.

Laser Challenge products are very durable and fun to buy. My friends and I get together almost every other day to have games in the backyards and stuff, but we play with the old Team Force sets (the original ones), and the newer V2 sets. I have a few of these Radar Extreme sets as well, and they easily beat out the original sets. The pros about this set are the auto-firing, 350' range blasters (the original blasters only had about a 50' range and fired 6 shots before reloading), the Maxblast feature, which allows you to hit the enemy counting for 3 hits instead of one, the Blast Shield, which is activated by pressing a button on the vest and allows you to escape dangerous situations, the team play option, relocated reload button (I think that this is more fair because the reload button is located higher up on the gun, and is harder for a person to press it and keep shooting), and a silent mode for stealthy snipers. The cons are the radar feature, because it doesn't allow you to sneak up on your enemy without them being alerted to being aimed at, but I have heard rumors about the radar feature not working sometimes (I'm in luck), the gun is angled (look in the picture. you'll see what I mean. I especially think that this is hilarious because my neighbor, Ethan, is always trying to hit me, but is firing over my head! lol. stupid Ethan...), and the BIG mistake of not including a back sensor. Ethan, being the little stinker that he is, is always turning his back to us and firing over his shoulder, but we just give him a back sensor for the original vest (that should fix him! lol. stupid Ethan...). Although this set easily beats out the Gotcha Extreme(bad accuracy), and team force 2000(horrible), it is still not as good as the old Laser Challenge V2 line. These guns had PERMANENTLY WIRED back sensors(totally schway!), EXCELLENT accuracy, and all the features of the current kits. They also made a computer for the V2 line that would keep track of your shots, hits, score, and more! It almost makes you feel like going over to Toymax and stuffing firecrackers down their pants for discontinuing this line! >_< You can still find these kits in some online auctions though (hint hint). Sorry for the long review. I was bored.

I love playing laser-tag myself. I go to lazer-zone where they pump mist into the room, I've played Lazer Storm, but when my Navy uncle bought this for me for my birthday, I was more than pleased. The reason I rated the fun factor at a 4 is probably because the places where you pay $20 to play for an hour are obviously more fun than this, and you may think that this Laser Challenge set lacked on more than a few things, but it's black-forest sophistication from here on in. When I first looked at it, I saw that it came in an eye-catching box that was true to the Laser Challenge roots, and when I finally opened the box and held the gun, I could tell that it lived up to the Laser Challenge name. I was impressed by accuracy, but, of course, no infrared beam is completely accurate. A way to make it more accurate is to polish the lens, since when light refracts off of a double-convex lens it gets distorted, and polishing it and keeping it clean will keep the light from being distorted. When I brought my guns home, I seemed to have no problems with registering hits, though there was a lag in the sound-to-trigger action. I completely covered the gun in camouflague duct-tape so both of my guns are camo, as well as the vests. If your going to do this, make sure not to cover the clear plastic sheild on the vest, or the little LED light on the top of the receiver, or the lens on the gun. I've also found that it does not work well with the Laser Challenge training bot that I got at KB Toys. The only thing that the training bot responds to, is the reset button, but the trigger and blast sheild it ignores, since it shoots back at you. I recently went back out and bought 2 more Laser Challenge Radar Extreme sets, and they have had no problems, and they are covered in camo duct-tape as well. The batteries last long without having to be replaced, and the guns are well-made out of hard plastic. Me and friends play 3 on 3 Laser Challenge matches in my basement, since I bought a bunch of those paintball obstacles and barricades that you bllow up with air. On an average day, we'll go through a 12-pack of coke, and about 2 good albums, while playing Laser Challenge and skateboarding. Thank you for listening, and if you didn't, you should've. Goodbye.

By far, one of the top Laser Challenge Games is this one, (besides my fav. place to go, lazer quest). I give it five stars for fun because it is......uh......fun. I love it! The Max Blast option is really cool. It is worth three hits if you nail the enemy. The Shield is also very useful, letting you get the hell outta there if you are close to death. You get 3 max blasts, and 3 shields, making you have to use them wisely and sparringly. It is moderatly educational, because you can work out strategies and stuff like that. It is overall very durable. The only thing I dont like is that it is kinda hard at first to set to either team A or B. I suggest you read the whole instuctional manual before you first play it.So I suggest you get it.

these just might be the best laser tag set that is available to the public.
i was 21 when i bought them, and i play with them all the time. laser tag guns and vests seem to be a rare find. i wish they would create more versions of laser tag equipment for older people (as far as access to laser tag equipment goes) BUT these are still worth every penny. the 350ft range seems to hold up true (aim low though). use good batteries too. these were ment for younger (smaller) people, but an adult can enjoy these. a little cheesey looking but durable enough to get you through a fair game. i got hit from behind a 1 ft thick cement wall once! a back target would have been nice as well. and if i had my maid-to-order, id make the chest target, and straps, a bit bigger as well. the best avaiable laser tag equpiment i could find. i do not regret it one bit.

the thing about having this is that u can make bases in your house where can shoot the opposing team. its great if u live in a town house were all your friend are with in a 100 yards (a soccer fields distence) i frequently get 5 people on each team and we play a large game around the complex. its great to snipe people out with the long range these guns have i have a tree by my house were i snipe from.Sometimes my dad lets me play at night in the dark in my house if i have a sleep over and i use the collest feature on the gun, silenced mode it is great for snipers.another cool thing about this laser tag set is that it actually does project a laser but dont get carried away its only for aming its like the laser pens u can buy.over all this set is the best thats why i baught 5 witch gave me the ability to have 5 on each team. that spent most of my christmas money...

It is great. I bought 2 sets so 4 of my friends could play at once. Great sounds, but i have not tried it in the dark. Good accuracy if you make a sight for it because it dosn't have a sight built on. I learned by someone's reveiw that you can make one with a fork. Break the two middle prongs off and tape it to the gun. Then you have to role up tape and make another sight on the back. Line the two sights up on the target and fire. The more guns and vests you have the better it is. Something i don't like is that it just comes with only a front vest. So, whenever someone turns their back or turns to the side you can't hit them. Also if you are sneeking up on someone you cant shoot them in the back. (i hate that). People also lay down and you can't hit them. So we make up rules like no laying down and no shooting with your back to the person you are shooting at. I can't wait till the back vest come out if they are coming out, or i just might buy a few back sensors off of e-bay from the V2. the blast sheild is fun. if you want to run across the street in the line of fire just hit the button and you are invinsible for a little while. Max blast is great too. When you are sniping if you have an open shot on them just hit max blast button and your hit counts as three.(love it use it all the time too bad ). One bad thing is that it takes 10 batteries per set. Some of my friends have never played laser challenge so they drop it like it's just a fake gun. i keep telling them not to and they have stopped now. They are still working fine. It is very durrable.
