5.0 out of 5 stars This game ROCKS!!
Virtual Paintball ROCKS! This game has all of the fun of real paintball but has no paint - It fires an invisible "beam" instead. You can hit other players from 500 feet away (my real paintball gun can't do that)! When you get hit, these cool "splat lights" show up on your vest. 3.0 out of 5 stars Paintball- it's not. Fun- it can be...
I first found out about Virtual Paintball in a local Wal-Mart flyer and it looked like a pretty decent deal so I decided to pick up a set for myself. On my first day of testing, a friend and I played in a dark basement. The first day went pretty smoothly. You can hit other players from 500 feet away (my real paintball gun can't do that)! When you get hit, these cool "splat lights" show up on your vest. There are tons of gaming options and there are "special codes" that let you do some pretty cool tricks. I would recommend this to kids who want to play paintball and moms who are not ready to have their kids play real paintball yet.

This toy is very fun, but the only thing that makes this game hard is the lazer. If one of your friends is covering the vest with the hand; the lazer wont work no matter how much you shoot him. But other than that is very fun. It has a long range and is very durable. One other thing about this toy. It has no aiming tool. That means you can't aim; You just gonna have to gess where you shoot. But you'll get good at it is not realy that hard.

I was excited to get this for my 6 yr old. It looks like

a lot of fun but it is decieving. The batteries dont last very

long the sound is not very loud and it just doesn't work

for any distance and overall its a lousy product. I have it

right now still sitting in the box after trying it a couple of

times and being dissappointed. Don't buy this there is

plenty more things out there for the money....the shipping

was not worth it either

I first found out about Virtual Paintball in a local Wal-Mart flyer and it looked like a pretty decent deal so I decided to pick up a set for myself. On my first day of testing, a friend and I played in a dark basement. The first day went pretty smoothly. Accurate lasers, no laser kick back (which is a major plus from the original Team Force sets) and none of those annoying beeps that plagued the original Team Force set. This is where I found out about the minor durability flaw- When we were disarming for the day and I removed the vest from my back, a vest strap snapped off and now my Red vest will forever be bouncing around. Also another complaint from me would be that the invisible laser can travel through objects, so setting up a paintball-like field for playing this game is somewhat pointless. As I write this review right now, I'm shooting at a vest placed behind my bed's pillow and I can consistantly register hits it with my other laser gun, bah. My second day of testing comes from a somewhat warm day with extremely sunny outdoor conditions. Not fun, what so ever. I guess the sun was breaking off the laser's track from meeting my friend's vest but we literally had to stand in front of each other to register hits. Hits would only register on his vest from no more than 9 inches away. Durability kicked in when the dangling red vest went flying onto a concrete road and was picked up without a scratch.

So in conclusion,

Fun: It can be. I would suggest only playing in large, dark areas. Maybe a large forest? The paintball purpose is somewhat defeated when you can be hit by your opponent simply knowing you're hiding behind that log or whatever the case may be.

Educational: "Alright students, today we're arming ourselves up with laser guns and sensor vests. Go shoot each other in the chest 5 times without being shot yourself. Don't forget you can shoot little Suzie over there three times with the little trigger in the front! Class dismissed!!"

Durability: Yes, very durable toy. The sensor vest took some punishment but the supporting straps could be made somewhat stronger.

I bought this for my 9-year old son as a Christmas gift. The idea is great but the execution is very poor. As soon as we put the batteries in and turned on the laser guns, one of them just died!!!

I've tried to contact the toll-free customer support line but all I get is either a busy signal or voice mail.

I am disappointed with the product's poor quality and the manufacturer's poor customer support.

I'm with you Bill Samford! Got this toy for grandchildren for Christmas. Opened it up on Christmas morning...loaded the batteries...and BAM! One gun fires, the other one doesn't. Try telling a 5 and a 3 year old that their Christmas present doesn't work! How disappointing is that?

My son bought this with some birthday money from his grandfather. It is a neat concept. My son and the neighbor kids enjoy it both boys and girls. The only problem is the plastic clips on the vests broke the very first time they tried to put them on,on both vests. Now they are safety pinned. This is a entertaining idea but, for 31.99 it could have been made a little better.

I gave this to my son for his birthday (7 years). One of the sets was broken within 2 hours of play. No, it didn't get dropped or otherwise abused. It just stopped working. We changed batteries, everything, nothing fixed it. Not to mention that when we got it, it took 30 minutes just to figure out how to use it. I am extremely disappointed, and, of course, my son is, too.

DO NOT purchase this toy. It is not worth the money.

Got it for my son for Christmas. Opened it up on Christmas morning...loaded the batteries...and BAM! One gun fires, the other one doesn't. Imagine the look on my 6 year old's face when I told him we couldn't play, the gun is defective. You really let me down ToyMax. Sorry, you get no points from this Dad.

i got this for my birth day on the 9th of october 2004 and my friend came over and we tried it out. IT ROCKED!!!! we used it outside and it worked fine, even at a far away range. we experienced some problems with the blue marker and vest but it seemed to be fine after a while. i think it was because we used it all day and the battery must have ran out. anyway, i think its great and i think everyone should get one!!!!!! well worth the money!!! Even better, it works with all the old laser challenges, laser challenge gotcha and so on. BRILLIANT
