My 7 yr old son got this for a gift and loves it. We did have the previous version of a Pokemon playset and it was terrible and went back to the store. This one is made so much better and it stays together. I have to say though - I did NOT use the slime and don't plan to. It says on the directions that it will stain everything (clothes,carpet, tile, etc.) Not sure why the company would bother putting it in there if it stains so much but my kids like it just fine without it. The mountain where the lava goes lights up and turns red anyway so no need for the slime.

I gave this toy to my 5 year old son and he loved it. I went to make breakfast and came back to his playroom, the "lava" or red slime was everywhere, I couldn't believe it. It has now stained the carpet and his clothes, I managed to get it off the walls. In very small print on the directions it lists staining as a problem. I am still trying various products to get the stain out. Maybe I should have known that slime does that, but most products list that sort of thing on the box.

I read the previous reviews so as the volcano came out of the box we made the bag of lava disappear before the kids even saw it. The lava is not necessary. The volcano still lights up and makes noises. I would have scored it higher if it didn't come in so many pieces, makes me worry it won't last. With all that said I gave it my 3yo nephew and I quickly found he, his sister, and his brother playing with it. They begged me for their birthdays to buy the add on bases. They all love it and it kept them busy for hours.

I got this for my 6 year old Pokemon fanatic. It fell apart in hours...not sturdy at all, and the slime has no purpose but for making a mess. Skip this plastic hunk of junk. Your little one is better off without it.

My son spent a lot of time with this toy. He has all the little playset attachments as well and creates and then again re-creates different scenes. He loves it! Holding up well. Just wish it had more of the "lava".
