This Star Wars game is the best plug and play game of its kind. You get to choose amongst five games. Included are two Jedi themed games, two starfighter themed games, and one in which you ride a Boga across the planet of Utapau. My personal favorites were the Coruscant Attack and the Utapau Chase. In the CA, I am Obi-Wan in a Jedi starfighter as I shoot down droid ships while trying to bring down battleships. Once you learn how to control the ship, it is all down-hill from there. In the UC, I am again Obi Wan as I ride a Boga shooting down or slamming enemy Bogas into the wall. The final showdown involves a duel with General Grievous' speeder. I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a good video game.

Are you looking for a way to prolong the Star Wars magic after watching the latest film? Say no more. JAKKS Pacific's "Star Wars Episode III Plug & Play TV Games" is here to keep your buzz going. And the best part is you do not need a high midi-chlorian count to revisit that galaxy far, far away. All you need is four AA batteries, a TV set to plug the game unit into, and as much playing time as you can set aside.
The game unit allows you to choose between five different games. In DROID INVASION, you are Obi-Wan Kenobi and you must fend off armies of battle droids with the help of your trusty lightsaber. You travel from Naboo to Geonosis to Mustafar to prevent Battle Droids, Super Battle Droids, and Destroyer Droids from overrunning each planet. Knock off certain Battle Droids and gain extra lives, a protective shield, a double-bladed lightsaber, or the ability to use a Force push on advancing droids. In CORUSCANT ATTACK, you are Obi-Wan Kenobi once more and you must destroy Separatist fighters, cruisers, and battleships in your Jedi Starfighter. Prove yourself to be an excellent pilot and gain extra lives, the opportunity to upgrade your blasters, the ability to slow down the speed of the game, or the aid of Anakin Skywalker in his own Jedi Starfighter. Just be extra careful when dealing with those Buzz Droids. Those dudes are nasty. In GRIEVOUS ONSLAGHT, you are Anakin Skywalker and you must slice your way through Super Battle Droids and Destroyer Droids on General Grievous' flagship in order to rescue the abducted Chancellor Palpatine. Strike down the specially-colored Super Battle Droids and gain a protective shield, the ability to Force push away advancing enemies, or the ability to freeze the Battle Droids in their tracks. Be patient when fighting off the Bodyguard Droids and be alert on the higher levels for that is when General Grievous joins the fight. In GUNSHIP BATTLE, you are a Clone Pilot piloting a Republic Gunship and you must protect and transport your fellow Clone Troopers while avoiding enemy ships and ground cannons. Help your troops take control of fuel depots, gun turrets, and the Separatist base. Get four Clone Troopers into the enemy base and the day is won. In UTAPAU CHASE, you are Obi-Wan Kenobi riding atop the loyal Boga. You must navigate your way past gun turrets and avoid enemy speeders intent on stopping you from catching up to General Grievous in his Wheel Bike. While making your way across Utapau, you have the opportunity to pick up extra lives, blaster upgrades, and armor for Boga. Remember to use Boga's tail in addition to your blasters. They cause a whole lot of damage when making contact with gun turrets and enemy speeders. Of the five games, CORUSCANT ATTACK is the most addictive while DROID INVASION and GRIEVOUS ONSLAUGHT are great too. GUNSHIP BATTLE is a little disappointing and gets tiresome very quickly. UTAPAU ATTACK is the weakest of the five games. Half the time you are not even sure what is going on while playing it and Boga perishes very easily. These games are not as elaborate as those Star Wars games designed for computers and game platforms but it does the job if you keep your expectations in check. The unit itself is not bulky and is comfortable to hold. There is a navigation control pad to the left and pair of buttons to the right. Both the pad and buttons are easy to handle and are not awkwardly placed. Two notable aspects of this TV plug-in game unit compared to previously-released units is that it stores your high scores after you shut it down and it allows you to pause the game while playing. Any negatives? Well, the range of sound effects is limited and unfortunately, there is no Star Wars music playing in the background while you are trying to save the galaxy. In addition, there are no detailed instructions to the various games so many of the gameplay aspects have to be learned from playing the games over and over. Finally, you are out of luck if you want to play as the Dark Side. You are always battling the Separatist Forces as a Jedi. Now go forth young Padawan and purchase this unit. As Anakin Skywalker said at the beginning of Episode III - "this is where the fun begins."

This toy is great - it has 5 different games that are based on the Star Wars characters in Episode III but with an Atari like twist. If you're looking for graphics as in PSP or Xbox, forget it. This definitely took me back to 80's video games - you can be fighting battle droids, Grievous, destroying enemy battleships or saving Clone Troopers. The controller is very easy to use and comfortable - whoever decided to mold the controller to look like Vader - genius :). It's very easy to plug in and you can start playing right away. One note on big TV screens though - if the screen is setup as a widescreen, your graphics can look distorted. Setting it up on a plain jane 27 inch works fine ;).
While it's true that it does save your scores - you should know that it uses 4AA batteries (not included). The directional pad does take a little getting used to - I kept dying when Obi Wan is fighting the droid invasion cause I moved a little too close at first. So far I enjoy Utapau Chase the best. The Coruscant Attack definitely reminds me of Bosconian, as another reviewer said, but better. This is WORTH every penny.

EPISODE 3, WHERE ARE YOU!!! Man, this game is so good. IT has 5 awsome games and they all kick ass. IT kinda takes you back to the atari era, which is nice. The controller is awsome, I mean come on its Darth himself. The UTAPAU CHASE is awsome. And you can move the sabers really well. New evil enemies, so it was a bit weird. But its definetly worth it.

Hours of Fun,

This review is from: Jakks - Star Wars 5-in-1 Plug N Play TV Game (Toy)
This game offers several games combined into one handheld console. It runs on 4AA Batteries, which last 30+ hours of play time. This is a great way to occupy the kids on long car trips if you can hook in to the "in car" DVD or video player Don't expect the quality of a $100 X Box controller. But for the kids it's great. Warning! Do not start playing this game if you are an adult. It will suck hours out of your life in a flash. I have purchased 3 of these games so far because we have worn the buttons out. I wish I could pay more for a better quality controller, but heck it's a $20 kid's toy. The fact that I would keep buying the game after we wear it out should tell you that it's fun.

This game is so much fun!!! I do think that maybe it could use a few more games or maybe make different difficulty levels. In other words... If you are a huge Star Wars fan like me, then you will love this game!!! It will keep you occupied for at least an hour a day if you are determined to beat a certain level. Another thing I think it could use is maybe a game-save function or something... Anyway, GREAT GAMING EXPERIENCE!!! One and a half thumbs up!!!

The new Star Wars plug-in video game is awesome. There are five different games that are included: The Gunship Battle, Grievous Onslaught, Coruscant Attack, Droid Invasion, and Utapau Chase. You are wielding lightsabers deflecting blasts from droids in one game while you are piloting a Jedi starfighter launching an attack on Separatist battleships on another.
My favorite game is the Utapau Chase. I am Obi-Wan Kenobi tracking down General Grievous while being chased by enemy Bogas and avoiding turret gun fire. I can upgrade my blasters, armor my Boga, or acquire extra lives. This game combines the classic arcade game graphics with the versatility of a great video game. It is fast paced and fun. I would recommend this game to both Star Wars and video game fans alike.

my son LOVES this game. he's getting the hang of it slowly. his sisters wouldn't give him a turn on the playstation or gamecube so i got him his own game. wish it didn't need batteries but nothing a trip to the dollar store won't fix! graphics aren't going to be superb but for a three year old...it's perfect.

Two versions of Jakks Star Wars Plug&Play game?,

I am a little confused after reading some of the reviews here, so I thought I'd share my experience. FYI, there is (or was, at least) another Jakks Star Wars Plug-n-Play, which was shaped sort of like a Playstation controller but it was designed to look like Darth Vader's mask (which I thought was way cool, BTW.) Anyway, I know that Amazon sometimes lumps reviews together, and reading over these it looks like they've done that here because some mention the controller looking like Vader, while the photo shows the one shaped like the Millenium Falcon. We have BOTH the Vader one and the Millenium Falcon one (purchased a year or two ago at local -mart stores for about 20-bucks each.) The Vader one does have different games than the Millenium Falcon one, though -- or at least ours did (another review here seemed like the Vader one had the same games as the Falcon one...???) On our Vader game (which is dated 2005 on the back) it has the games described in other reviews here: Droid Invasion, Coruscant Attack, Grievous Onslaught, Gunship Battle, and Utapau Chase. Our Millenium Falcon game (dated 2006 on the back) has only four games instead of five, and they are different -- they are: Lightsaber Duel, Battle of Endor, Assault on Hoth, and Red Leader.
So basically I'm not sure what this means you'll be getting from Amazon -- they picture the Millenium Falcon game but the written description says five games (not the four ours has) and also describes the five games that (in our experience) are on the Vader game. Maybe Jakks just switched controllers recently and put the five games on the Falcon instead? (Hey, maybe I have a really rare and valuable Falcon game with four games that aren't made anymore!) At any rate, both games (Falcon and Vader) are fantastic and my 7-year-old son loves them, and I have to admit I play it some, too. (I rock at Grievous Onslaught *she said modestly*) We have found both to be very durable and have had no problems with loose/broken wires or broken joysticks, despite many hours of hard play. They're excellent fun games at a great price so you don't have the huge expense of a Playstation or whatever. One advantage the Vader one has over the Falcon one -- the red light that signals when it is turned on is located on the top of the Vader mask and is very easy to see, so you aren't likely to leave it on by mistake and run the batteries down. The "on" light on the Millenium Falcon is located on its edge, and we have mistakenly left it on many times and thus go through more batteries with it. These games have been out for awhile and perhaps are not being made anymore (?) or are in limited supply or something which may be why they are priced so high, but do shop around because you may find them in a -mart store for somewhere in the 20-buck range. (I see Target has it offered via Amazon for nineteen-something...)

I just got this game and it rules! It's cool because it brings back the old school gaming with a new school attitude to it. All you do is actually plug it in and play it. The game is all self explanatory and comes with instructions on how to play any of the five games in it. The five games are great, but I have to say the one I like the most is the Utapau Chase. Also another cool feature is that it saves your scores. The graphics and the gameplay are both smooth and i didnt find any bugs playing this game, like you normally would find.
