Get real this rocks!!!!!,
By David Martin (Fiji) - See all my reviews

This is in my opinion Clutch at their finest. Rerelease including three extra tracks. I would say that some of the above reviews need to be removed for inaccuracies. It was certainly not recorded in 1992 it was released independently between Elephant Riders and Pure Rock Fury. That's around 1999 and is nothing like what they played in the early 90's.
Second track is a true classic but the whole album is loose and grooves just the way I like it. Overall great album great vibe. Now great value with bonus tracks.

This is Clutch's most experimental record top date, and it truly is awesome. It may not be a "refined" as their other releases, but it has a unique feel that the others definitely do not have. In my opinion, though, Clutch is one of the few bands where each release is significantly different from the ones before. It is a short CD at c. 35 minutes, but still worth it by far.

Who Wants To Rock?!?,
This review is from: Jam Room (Audio CD)
This self-released EP is a must for any fan of the mighty Clutch. Album-to-album, this band keeps getting stronger, and "Jam Room" is no exception. Heavy guitar and bass grooves will shake your skull unmercifully, while Neal Fallon's unmistakable, gravel-throated voice is sure to please the most casual Clutch fan. This is music born and raised in the backwoods of Virginia, so don't expect Limp Bizkit or Blink 182, kids. Do you like Monster Magnet? Kyuss? Unida? Queens Of The Stone Age? Transport League? Black Sabbath? Then, chances are you're going to love Clutch. This is dirty, gritty, sandpaper across your teeth, dirt under your fingernails Rock & Roll. This is about the groove and Clutch is the real deal. Do you wanna Rock? Then "Jam Room" is your ultimate guide. This EP's worth every penny. Trust me. Quit overthinking it and proceed to checkout. It's a small price to pay for so much good groove. Also, be sure to check out Clutch's "Elephant Riders." It's one of the best albums released in the 1990's.

The Band That Can Do No Wrong,
By purerockfury "Gorillas" (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jam Room (Audio CD)
Clutch seems to be one of those bands that have this attitude towards their record labels that's saying "Look, we are going to do whatever the hell we want at all times. You can climb aboard if you feel the need but one way or the other, things are gonna get done.". Unlike a lot of bands that say that publicly but in the end tow the line to keep the suits happy, Clutch plays what the want and do it very well. It seems almost strange to me that "Jam Room almost has better production than their major label releases. Anyway, "Jam Room" is pretty much a straight forward title that lets you know what; this CD is about in no uncertain terms. It's almost like one long song broken up into parts. For thos uninititated, Clutch plays a weird mesh of 70s rock and hardcore that brings to mind influences from all over the musical spectrum. They have fit on stages comfortably with nearly every band they've played with. Neal Fallon has a unique knack for writing lyrics that upon first glance make no sense but once you hear them, you believe that somehow, Neal Fallon knows exactly what he's talking about. It is this blend of 30+ years of rock music coupled with Neal Fallon humorous and strangely insightful lyrics that makes Clutch one of the most unappreciated and inspiring bands to grace a stage since rock's inception. Next time you see a Clutch CD in your record shopping excursion, make a purchase that is worth your while and buy a Clutch CD or 7.

A great Clutch album,
By Marc "Clutchfan" (Lagrange, KY USA) - See all my reviews

First of all, this was released after "The Elephant Riders" after Clutch left columbia records due to low sales from the record labels lack of promoting the band. So Clutch released this originaly on River Road Records, which may have been their own label. I have yet to get the re-release but I will soon. But anyone who likes later Clutch from Elephant to Blast should like this. It is different and kind of strange at first but it is Clutch at their best just jamming and having fun. I agree with the other reviewers about track 2 being the best. I have been a fan since the first time I saw the video of A shogun Named Marcus on MTVs headbangers ball back in 1993. Bottom line is, yes this is a solid album, yes it is different, but listen to it a couple of times and I'm sure you will like it.

The musical stylings of this release are a hybrid between Elephant Riders and Pure Rock Fury. I've always enjoyed the lyrics, Clutch has a gift for turning mundane things, like chowder, succotash and cornbread into poetry! I can really relate to this band! Go buy it, now!

Jam Room,

Clutch's Jam Room is in the same style as The Elephant Riders, more jam oriented. I would recommend this CD to any Clutch fan, but it is not really an import.

I've quit thinking about buying Clutch CDs and started just buying them period. There's no need to think about it. If it's Clutch, it's awesome. The earlier Clutch CDs up to the Self-titled are more rough and scratchy, then came along Elephant Riders which cleaned up Fallon's vocals a bit, but it's still a great CD. Jam Room on the other hand is just funky. It has a couple of kind of scratchy songs, but the majority of the CD is just funked up clutch. It has a couple of instrumentals on it too, which are good. Fallon really plays with his voice on this one with Gnome Enthusiast, Basket of Eggs, etc. The whole CD is good! Buy it. You won't be disappointed!

Another thought....,
By Phil Soluri (Maryland) - See all my reviews

I was just flipping through the rest of the reviews, and saw a couple negative I just wanted to throw my thoughts on. The two negatives I saw did make some valid points, one being thatthis album doesn't quite have the bowl quaking bass and drums that ya have to set the bass equalizer to -34, and doesn't quite have, some of the in your face this is Clutch like it or go away feel that previous albums have had. That being said, I get more of a refined kind of vibe I guess. Still powerful, still awesome, still the Clutch sound...refined, yet in no way commercial or sell out to the one and still only Clutch sound....

You really have to be a hardcore clutch fan to like this one. Its same style as elephant riders but more funky and unproduced sound. Alot of the songs are not really songs but just them messing around, jamming. Track 2 is one of my favorite clutch songs ever. You would never hear anything else like this. Very original. Dont expect to like it the first time you hear it or for your friends to like it. You are gonna listen to this music by yourself. Get it if you plan on collecting the clutch albums. Get Blast Tyrant first, imo their best.
