5.0 out of 5 stars Cajun Cooking 101, July 17, 2000
By
My Neighbor is orginally from Pierre Part Louisiana (In the heart of Cajun country) & she is such a good cook, I asked her which book would be best for REAL Cajun style food and she suggested this one. I have not been disappointed yet... My gumbo taste as good as hers now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Reasons why I like this Book..., October 17, 2000
By
Taylor Moore (Naples, Florida) - See all my reviews
1)The most popular Cajun dishes are in the front of the book. Classics like 'Seafood Gumbo,' 'Jambalaya,' and 'Shrimp Creole.' It saves me time & frustration. 2)It is informative. Besides the good food it shares with the reader many interesting facts about the Cajuns & their 'Joy of Life.' 3)It is reasonably priced for all you get. 4)The Author's personality shines through in each recipe. 5)I love New Orleans!

I first discovered this book while on vacation at Mardi Gras, it has 7 different recipes for Gumbo, humorous Cajun Poetry & a wealth of historical information. Personally I liked the Shrimp Creole, The Zydeco Chicken & The Mardi Gras King Cake Best; Great Choice!
