Editorial Reviews

"You're Beautiful", the ubiquitous song about a lifetime lived in a moment, became the soundtrack of a turbulent year, despite taking several weeks to reach #1. The album was 2005's biggest seller in the UK. Everything that makes Blunt such a special talent can be seen and heard on these extraordinary live performances, Filmed before an invited audience at the BBC in November 2005 and the audio portion recorded while on tour in Ireland in December 2005. Whether solo or backed by a full band, Blunt loses himself in his songs. It is the same quality of intensity captured on the video for 'You're Beautiful', included here along with his other videos. Between songs, Blunt can be light-hearted and debonair. When he sings, he is naked. Includes an electronic press kit with a short documentary featurette, photo gallery and interview.

The DVD is worth double what it cost.

This artist is very talented and he comes through in his singing as having a lot of heart and emotion which is not typical of many other british artists.
Gerry Robin
I had seen him in concert in April of this year 2006 and his show was amazing.

James Blunt has an intimate way of showing his raw emotion in his music. On the DVD that is even more apparent than in his audio album. Here is an artist that sings each song every bit as well live as he does recorded - a sign of real talent.

This DVD is a great watch if you are a fan of his music. Since his music is so much about the emotion he expresses I loves the interviews where he discusses more about what went into each song and where his inspiration came from. I'm still trying to figure out his music videos... the one for "You're Beautiful" was really striking yet simple - in line with his style - but the others are just plain weird! It's OK, though, just makes me think more intently about the songs when I hear them after seeing the things he finds important to portray in the videos.

I'm not one to really sit down and watch music on TV, but this DVD is an exception to me. James Blunt puts his heart and soul into his singing so actually seeing him express that just adds to the beauty of it. I can't wait til he comes back to the US for concerts! But, in the mean time, this will suffice.

James Blunt is an artist who can evoke more emotion by lifting one eyebrow than most performers can by gyrating their entire bodies and breaking down into hysterical fits of crying. We see this here, gratefully, in the short but sweet 45 minute concert.

We are also treated to seeing the videos, the making of the videos, and two interviews, both of which were gratifying - perhaps most because in one of them we saw what he looked like completely clean shaven in his army uniform, with short hair parted to the side. Very different look.

His favorite song is "Goodbye My Lover", and it's mine too. When I first saw him perform it on Saturday Night Live, it felt like I was saying good-bye to *my* lover, and the harrowing vocals at the end (I'm so hollow...) put my heart in my throat. At the time, I didn't think I had ever heard an artist display so much emotion with only a piano, a voice, and facial expressions. If there was an Oscar or Grammy for such a thing, he'd get it. That song is what spurred me to buy his CD. I have since seen him perform that song on Oprah, and now on this DVD, and the raw emotion I saw months and months ago is still there. I swear that you can see hints of water in his eyes, like it's still a difficult song for him to sing. Which is amazing, because whether or not that view is correct, that's what it looks like. He's still able to pour that much emotion into a song that he's performed hundreds and hundreds of times.

When watching this last night, I forgot how much I enjoyed his CD. I certainly remember now, and the darn thing has me wetting my lips for the follow-up album.

I have the import version of this DVD and its wonderful... but it only plays in the computer.... and i want it on my big TV. This DVD is fabulous... James Blunt is a talented singer and songwriter and this DVD showcases that. I had seen him in concert in April of this year 2006 and his show was amazing.

And a big plus is all the videos are on here too, and the making of the video. I think all artists should release the best show of their tour on DVD and the promo videos for the album for which they are touring.

Way to go James!!! I look forward to the next album and next tour!!!

This is the best DVD I've bought in years. The BBC Concert footage is even better than the "Back to Bedlam" CD, which I've already worn out. Seeing James Blunt perform the fantastic songs he's written is even better than just listening! He has it all: great songwriting, mesmerizing performances, and a personality both intelligent and charming. The extras on the DVD -- the videos, making-of-videos, interviews with James -- are just great! The DVD is worth double what it cost.

I love this dvd! My favorite song is wisemen. Some things I don't understand like the three guys dressed up in faces just like James Blunt? I'll admit though it was refreshing to see a different stage set up other than just an amp and a guitar.

If you are looking for good quality entertainment and don't want to have to fight traffic and crowds to go to a James Blunt concert, this DVD is for you. You can curl up on the couch, not have to worry about the kids walking through your den or liviing room and hearing any bad language in the amended version. This artist is very talented and he comes through in his singing as having a lot of heart and emotion which is not typical of many other british artists. James Blunt is someone that you will see yourself relating to. He seems very down to earth and just like the guy next door. Believe me - you need to have this concert in your collection. James Blunt is very talented singer and songwriter. Brilliant!

I like to listen to James Blunt's singing and enjoy even more by watching his performance expressing fully of his emotion. The two songs, Goodbye My Lover and No Bravery, are the best. The DVD also captures the touching reaction of the audience that is nice to see too.

I bought the original release last year and so far there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it.

Was it a technical problem? Was extra content added? What? Would somebody please shed some light on this?

Thanks!

R.V.
-oh, yes: this DVD is just awesome.

What is NTSC FORMAT
This dvd requires a region 0 dvd player. If you live in the USA you won't be able to play it on you dvd player unless you can change the regional code on it. I can play mine on my computer though. Good luck.
