Wow!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: James Bond 007 Collection: Piano/Vocal/Chords (Paperback)
This book my deceive you, it actually is a music book (the kind of music you play on an instrument) it includes songs from the first to the nineteenth Bond films. It in turn is a gret buy, if you can read and play music, I play trumpet, but I bought it for easy piano, but basiclly no matter what instrument you play it should sound the same, unless you play an instrument in Bass Clef. The only thing I don't like about the book is that it doesn't come with the twentieth Bond film's music. It comes with a CD for every song. i think all in all this is a great buy.

Love it!,

This piano song collection is perfect for the serious Bond lover + piano player. Too bad it was created before they could include Die Another Day and any after. The piano level varies from easy to intermediate +.

This book is fantastic! All the great songs from all the great Bond movies, including ba-da-da-dahhh, da-da-da, ba-da-da-dahh, are here. The arrangements are clean, easy to read, and as far as the piano is concerned, accurate. Performers will like being able to throw these easily recognized - but not often heard away from a movie screen - tunes into their repertoire, and casual players like myself will have fun surprising whoever's walking through the room with a "spy" lick at an unexpected moment. The glossy picture pages and chronological filmography on the cover are neat bonuses. I would have preferred a spiral spine to make the book easier to handle on the music stand, but that is too minor a nit to take away a star. (The tunes are usually simple enough to be played through without the music after a few practice sessions anyway.) So, press the tux, shake the martini, and rev up the Aston Martin because this book gives you a musical license to kill!

Misleading Product Description ... A Very Disappointing Purchase,
By 007 Fan (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: James Bond 007 Collection: Piano/Vocal/Chords (Paperback)
The product description for this book was "A complete collection of all the major themes from every James Bond movie, plus 16 pages of color photos and historical facts from each movie. ... A must have for every 007 fan!".
This description implies that it was the story behind every movie with historical facts etc. What a disappointment that turned out to be when I received the book. The "major themes" were actually the musical scores of the opening movie song. Far from being a "must have for every 007 fan", this book is totally useless to anyone that doesn't play a musical instrument. Whilst its not a fault of the book nor its authors, I am extremely disappointed with Amazon's misleading product description that led me to purchase this book under the guise of it being a "must have for every 007 fan"(of which I am one). Shame Amazon, shame!!! |
