Like most Bond books, the action is subdued, gadgets almost nonexistent, girls few and villains a little flat. Finishing the book, I wonder why the entire story was even necessary - they could have just arrested the dude at a gas station. This book was passable - good for the airport lounge or some other time killer, but not something I would go out of my way to read.

I had a John Gardner book in my library for years. After reading it late last year, I bought several more. They are very well written and as good a Fleming's books.

The story kept me interested, but took a while for the action to really begin. The character of Brokenclaw had potential, but did not really stir fear in the heart.

I'm really glad to see Bond books finally showing up for Kindle. There are a few conversion errors, but nothing major
