I was all jazzed when i saw this on the coming soon list, but finally found that it is not themes done by the original artists but by the United Studio Orchestra.

PRODUCT STATES THEMES BY VARIOUS ARTISTS, WHICH LEADS YOU TO BELIEVE THAT THE THEMES ARE BY THE ARTISTS ASSOCIATED WITH EACH MOVIE. THE FACT IS THAT THE WHOLE CD IS MADE UP OF INSTRUMENTAL THEMES PERFORMED BY THE STUDIO ORCHESTRA, NOT VARIOUS ARTISTS. CD WORKS OK FOR BACKGROUND MUSIC BUT NOT WHAT I THOUGHT I WAS ORDERING.

I bought this for my boyfriend who owns every bond movie made. I NORMALLY read reviews on Amazon before I purchase something and have no idea why I didn't think to read the reviews for this product before I purchased it. I could have saved myself the money and the let down. My boyfriend and I are very disappointed that this collection does NOT have the original artist's recordings. Not what I was looking for at all.

As other reviewers have pointed out, this is NOT the original songs.

One noteable example is the song Underneath the Mango Tree.
The original, which I heard again for the first time in about 10 years the other day, is just such a cool song. So different! It's like a delicious fruity tree!

The new version is populist pap.

I thought that "Various Artists" meant the various artists that have recorded Bond themes over the years, not a session orchestra. The CD doesn't even have a proper insert, just a single sheet of paper.

I haven't heard the music yet. It wasn't what I wanted, so there's no hurry. I imagine it will be workmanlike, but it *won't* be Munroe crooning "From Russia With Love", Bassey singing "Goldfinger" or Jones belting out "Thunderball", which is what I wanted.

My fault for not reading the blurb and comments more attentively.
