I cannot praise this recording highly enough - "Peace Be Still" is the epitome of high-octane black gospel. Cleveland's vocals raise the roof, and the Angelic Choir provides the perfect counter-punch, complemented by bluesy keyboards and swinging percussion (the drums on "I Will Wear a Crown" have an almost surf-rock feel). And the rousing doxology and amens ("Praise God") provide the perfect conclusion. If you are a fan of gospel, you must have this record! If you are interested in gospel, this is the place to start.

Unfortunately, Rev. Cleveland never equalled this masterpiece. If anyone knows of any albums that sound like "Peace Be Still," I would love to hear about them.

GREAT LISTENING GOSPEL MUSIC THAT I WISH I COULD HEAR MORE OF WHILE REVIEWING AS I CAN DO WHILE REVIEWING BLUE NOTE LABLE MUSIC WHERE THEY PLAY THE ENTIRE ALBUM EACH SONG/HYMN AT A TIME TO COMPLETION. PLZ TAKE UNDER CONSIDERTION AS 30 SECONDS IS SIMPLY NOT ENOUGH TO CRITIQUE. THANX!!

My mother has played one song numerous times. Because the title song is over forty years old. you can hear slight aging of the recorded process. I heard one potential scratch spot. I will wipe off the CD and report back later.

My mom was looking for this album for along time, but I found it and gave it her for her b-day. She was so excited. Immediately went to play it. She enjoyed this product.

Just want to mention: this album contains a song that is so spiritually ecstatic, it lights you up--suddenly & brightly--blasts you out of your seat and MAKES YOU DANCE, not just a body dance, but all the way through to your infinite core that kisses boundless heaven. The song is called "The Lord Brought Us Out." Oh My God! How rousing can you get? Good golly Miss Molly! Ecstatic Spiritual Experience is to be had from listening to this CD. Very very moving.

This is an awesome CD for those who love the Lord. It will inspire you to stand up and praise Him. It truly touches the heart. Best selection: Peace Be Still

This music will bring you back to the best of times in Gospel music.

I loved the music by James Cleveland and His Choir. Brings Back memories when my mother would talk about how he met James Cleveland when he was just preaching on the corner before he was blessed with God given talent. This is not the watered down Gospel Music you hear on the radio and tv.

The songs listed on this CD are all songs I grew up listening (and singing) in and out of church! This is a fantastic CD.

The only glitch is the transition from the first track to the second track. The original album (which my pops owned) had no pause (or time out) between the two tracks. For some odd reason, the executives of this CD may have decided to delete the message spoken by Reverend James Cleveland as the Reverend made remarks which led into the second track entitled, "Jesus Saves".

Other than that, the CD is a real gem for those who love hand-clapping, foot stomping Gospel music.

Heard the title record on the radio and was so moved. Excellent purchase good quality, and value for money.
