First let me say that the product description is incorrect. The edition appears to be 1976 and it is bound in a high-quality grained black leatherette, not burgundy leather.

In all other respects, the binding is heritage quality. It will lie flat on any page, and the detailing is meticulous: gold leaf on the outside of the pages, gold braid ornamentation on the inside edges of the covers, burgundy and gold heavy thread at the top and bottom of the spine stitching.

The paper and ink are top quality. I could not believe this was a full large-print bible when I picked it up. It is light and only 1.5 inches thick, so you can read it while holding it in your hand. But although the pages are thin, you can barely see the print on the converse of a printed page (although you can see through empty pages to the next page). The printing is crisp and clear, and will not smudge. There is a ribbon attached to the binding to be used as a bookmark

The typeface is a traditional serif proportional font, either medium or bold. Notes (cross-references, alternate meanings, etc.) are done in smaller light sans serif typeface at the end of each verse. Each verse is indented, but there is a symbol to show the original paragraphs. The pull weight of the pages is very high. (I.e. the pages can't be pulled out and should not fall out, very important in a flat-lying book.)

I have found this Bible easy to read in every respect. There are three nice extras: a basic concordence at the back, four thick coated double-side pages of traditional family Bible recording matters (marriage, children, deaths etc.)in the very front, and four similar pages of excellent maps at the very back.

I don't *need* large print, but it really increases reading comfort and saves eyestrain for anyone without perfect vision. I have had it for 6 months and so far it appears to be durable -- mine looks like new, with no torn pages, smudges, or scratches.

Actually, even if you would be happy with a hard-bound book volume or paperback, you might be happier with this one, due to its durability, its ability to lie flat, and its light weight. You certainly won't get a leather-bound Bible of this general quality for @ $14 (in fact, you aren;t going to get a fine leather binding for $14 no matter what's inside).

In summary, this Bible is a phenomenal value if you want a top-quality, well-made Bible to read frequently, which looks like a traditional, expensive Bible.

We sent this Bible to my father-in-law for his birthday and he absolutely loves it !!!!!! He said it is everything that he was looking for. Large print,excellent cross references,etc... He is a minister that ministers to people in assisted living, and nursing home facilities. He believes this Bible will enhance his experience as well as those he ministers to. Thanks so much !!!!

This is the Bible we all grew up with - the stories we know by heart from childhood. The Christmas story in Luke from the pagents of yesteryear, the beautiful psalms, the lyrics from Handel's Messiah from Isiaih, the creation myth, its all here in the words we remember, in the poetry that falls so beautifully on our ears. And, best of all, this beautiful Bible is printed in giant print so it can be enjoyed by everyone from children learning to read the Bible to seniors whose eyesight may be failing but their faith is as strong as ever. And the family can be tied together forever in the pages of lineage and family trees in the front pages which will make it a treasured heirloom. This Bible is so beautiful everyone should own one.

The Bible is described incorrectly, it is imitation leather which one would expect from the price. The quality of the imitation lather and binding is satisfactory. The color is apparently random. Mine was red but from other reviews I get the impression that sometimes it is black. My biggest complaint is that the type is not a very intense black and the pages are not an intense white so there is not as much contract between the text and pages as one would like. There is another large print Bible coming out in the same price range that is worth considering although I have not seen it yet. It is ISBN 159856000X and the Amazon price is $12.92.

This is a wonderful and easy to read BIBLE! I highly recommend this to anyone! First, the print is LARGE at about 14 points and it very easy to see and read! When you open it, it lays flat and is easy to place on a table to read or read it in your lap. It is constructed of a very attractive leather-like vinyl. In order to carry around this Bible, I just bought an extra large BIBLE cover for it and it fits into this perfectly. And, I would suggest that you buy a protective Bible cover for this as you can store your pen inside and also church flyers, small note paper etc. For the money, you cannot go wrong with this Bible. I bought TWO from Amazon and am so happy with my purchase!

I love my King James Giant Print! Better on the eyes of course but you really have more space for notes, and that's what I like. Whenever I read my Bible, I always have a pen in one hand and a highlighter in the other. I really mark it up and own it!

As a person with bad eyesight I needed a Bible with as large a print as I could find. This one has all the things that I like . It has large enough print, lots of references, easy to use index, and very good layout. I recomend this one for all that have problems reading regular print Bibles.

This was a gift to my husband. For the price this is a great Bible.

He said the letters were easy to see and the binding is nice. He loved the maps.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants a TRADITIONAL BIBLE, short and to the point. I personally prefer other versions but he is very traditional and LOVED IT. And he is not easy to please.

Easy to read print. Looks good on the outside, invaluable information on the inside. The book is a KJB which is closest to the original script.

I love the giant print on this Bible, but Amazon continues to advertise it as leather bound, when the wrapping on the Bible specifically says it is leatherette, which everyone knows means it is fake leather. Good price, but you need to know what you're getting.
