Buzz, buzz, buzz,
By A Customer
This review is from: James Goes Buzz Buzz & Other Stories [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My 2-1/2 yr old son is a big Thomas fan, and this is one of his favorite Thomas videos. He squeals along with James when a bee stings his nose, turning James into a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer look-alike. Seeing Bulgy get stuck under the bridge or Percy covered in fruit is also good for a laugh. Definitely a must for the Thomas Fans!

James Goes Buzz Buzz and Other Thomas Stories,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: James Goes Buzz Buzz & Other Stories [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I wanted to get the video because I liked the title, and it is a good video! See what happens when a little rockslide causes big demolition at Bill and Ben's quarry, and when they have trouble using the turntable. Watch what happens when Percy and James get in "jammed" situations:{...], when a new double-decker bus named Bulgy causes trouble on the railway, and when one of the vicar's beehives from the Vicorage Orchard breaks and covers James' boiler (and gets stung on the nose by one of them!) See Bertie and Edward have a chase when Thomas' fireman doesn't come to work, and Gordon traveling on the Branch Line and Edward on the Main Line. The story stops are: James Goes Buzz Buzz; One Good Turn; Bertie's Chase; Heroes; Bulgy; Wrong Road; and Percy, James, and the Fruitful Day. This is a good video. I hope you'll like it.

A Must-See for the Little Thomas Addicts,
By
This review is from: James Goes Buzz Buzz & Other Stories [VHS] (VHS Tape)
A Thomas fan once, a Thomas Fan for life--or that is how I feel about my son's favorite character. This collection of Thomas stories is great. A direct interpretation from the original stories, it brings the characters from the book alive. My son loves it. On a separate note, the live animation and lack of a lot of special effects is a refreshing change from a lot of the other kids movies out there. It lets kids' imagination to develop and that is why I think that my son watches this tape over and over and over....

I don't know about you, but I'm not a fan of Bill & Ben. They goof around to much and they aren't very bright. It just so happens that they show them more in this video than they do in any other video, but if you are a fan of Bill & Ben, you will probably love this video. The stories about James were very good and entertaining though. Here are the stories:
James Goes Buzz Buzz 5/5: The other engines warn James that bees can be a whole bunch of trouble but, as always, James doesn't listen because he thinks that insects can do no possible harm. When the bee hives break at the station, one stings James right on the nose. One Good Turn 3.5/5: After some trouble with a turntable, Bill & Ben refuse to talk to each other and grumble all the time. This makes Edward and Boco upset, so they come up with a plan to get the twins back together. Bertie's Chase 5/5: One day, Thomas does not show up at the station with Edward's passengers. Edward's driver climbs up on the cab to see if he can find Thomas, but he only sees Bertie the bus in a big hurry, so they head to the station without Thomas' passengers. But come to find out, Thomas' driver was sick that day and Bertie was to bring his passengers to Edward. The chase is on, but can Bertie reach Edward before he gets to the station? Heroes 4/5: Bill and Ben are tired of working at the quarry and want some other work to do for a change. Sir Topham Hatt sends them to the mainline where they will prepare Gordon's coaches for his evening train. But the freight cars trick Bill and Ben and they end up getting everything all mixed up. They are then sent back to the quarry. The next day, there is a big accident at the quarry, can Bill and Ben rescue the workman in time. Bulgy 4.5/5: A new bus named Bulgy arrives on the Island of Sodor to take passengers. Bulgy is very mean and says that railways should be ripped up. He ends up causing quite alot of confusion on the Island of Sodor, but there will soon be an end to all this madness. Wrong Road 4.5/5: Gordon thinks that it is unfair for Sir Topham Hatt to let branchline diesels like Boco pull mainline trains. Edward teases Gordon and says that maybe sometime Sir Topham Hatt will let him pull a brancline train, but Gordon gets furious and says that branchlines are vulgor! But one night, there is a dilemma with the two evening trains pulled by Edward and Gordon. Edward gets sent down the mainline and Gordon gets sent down the branchline. Percy, James & The Fruitful Day 6/5: James tells Percy that the small engines are so unreliable. But when James pulls some freight cars filled with fruit, his breaks get jammed and Percy is sent to collect his freight cars. He teases James endlessly until he himself ends up in a very sticky situation, literally. This video isn't the best, yet isn't the worst. I think that in Percy, James & The Fruitful Day, Percy deserved his fruit accident because he just couldn't stop teasing James. Anyway, if you are a big Bill & Ben fan, you will love this video.

Great episodes!,
This review is from: James Goes Buzz Buzz & Other Stories [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I'm giving this Thomas video-cassette just three stars, not because the episodes are bad, but because the first episode, "James Goes Buzz-Buzz", seems to be a ltitle frightening to younger audiences. The scene when James gets stung on the nsoe seems to be a bit scary, especially when he screams and everything else! If you beleive that this episode is scary, cover your face when this sequence comes up!

More Bill, Ben and BoCo on this video.,

"James goes Buzz Buzz" is a great story because BoCo is in it, and he is my favorite diesel engine. "One Good Turn", "Heroes" and "Wrong Road" are really good stories because they have Bill and Ben, two of my favorite characters. I like the way that they love to play tricks on other engines, but BoCo is there to stop them from being mischievous. "Percy, James and the Fruitful day" is the best story on this video because James is pulling cars full of fruit, then Percy has to pull the cars because James gets stuck on the rails, and Percy gets fruit all over his face when he is careless. I think this tape really funny.

One of the best Thomas tapes out there,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: James Goes Buzz Buzz & Other Stories [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is a really good tape, as it contains some of the best Thomas episodes from Series 2 and Series 3. "James Goes Buzz Buzz" is a pretty funny story; "Heroes" is full of drama and excitement; and "Bertie's Chase" and "Wrong Road" are probably the best ones on the tape. If you're a fan of Bill and Ben, you'll absolutely adore this, because they appear in several of the episodes on it.
Another thing I love about this tape is George Carlin's narration. While Ringo Starr and Michael Angelis are a lot better, Carlin is still a brilliant narrator, and this tape sports some of his best episodes. "Wrong Road" is probably his best ever...Ringo Starr's version, which is only available in Britain, isn't nearly as good. I love the way Carlin portrays Boco...he sounds like a wise old man, which is what he should sound like in my opinion. His Gordon voice is brilliant, as are his Bill and Ben voices and his Edward voice. Carlin brings the right amount of emotion and excitement to the episode, and he seems to be really into it. The only thing I dislike about his narration is the way he portrays Oliver. Oliver shouldn't sound like a raspy-voiced Queens gangster; the voice Alec Baldwin gave him was much better. But aside from that, I find the narration on this tape to be amongst Carlin's finest work. So, with brilliant narration and excellent stories, "James Goes Buzz Buzz" should definitely be in your Thomas collection.

James went Buzz Buzz,

This review is from: James Goes Buzz Buzz & Other Stories [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This tape was a good one for James fans and for Bill and Ben fans. James had two good stories and Bill and Ben fans had one. I wish BoCo was in it more but his part in James goes Buzz Buzz was good. This was one of the last James performances that he wasn't such a whiner. George Carlin as always did a good job and I wish he had stayed on a narrator. Alec Baldwin is ok but he portrays James as such a whiner. Bertie's Chase was a good episode for Edaward fans and for Bertie fans. This tape was a really good one and it is a must buy.

one good video,
A Kid's Review

In "James goes buzz buzz" a large beehive falls and bees land on James' boiler. A bee thinks James stings him (because it's hot) on purpose, so he stings James back, right on the nose! In "One Good Turn" Bill goes the wrong way on the turntable and Ben gets blocked in (and it is the first time they use it). Bertie fills in for Thomas in "Bertie's Chase" In "Heroes" a rockslide falls at the quarry, and Bill and Ben save the day. In "Bulgy" Duck meets a new bus named Bulgy who gets stuck under a bridge and is turned into a henhouse because of his lies. In "Wrong Road" Edward is late when Gordon leaves his passengers behind, but they are different train lines. And in "Percy, James and the Fruitful Day" James' brakes are jammed and Percy has to shunt his cars, but the switches fail and Percy is bumped into a buffer.
