A Visual and Narrative Feast,
This review is from: James in the House of Aunt Prudence (Paperback)
Timothy Bush is one of those rare authors who can both write and illustrate with equal expertise. This story weaves a delightful tale of a youngster's visit to his aunt's antiquated house, which transforms into a fairy-tale fantasy/adventure worthy of "The Nutcracker." The illustrations, though, are the gem of this book. Bush weaves together an assortment of artistic techniques and traditions to create the rich texture of his illustrations. His own style is distinct as he parodies traditional and classical arts in the furnishings and decorations of Aunt Prudence's house.

Love this book!,
This review is from: James in the House of Aunt Prudence (Paperback)
I checked out James in the House of Aunt Prudence from the library to read to my boys several years ago when they were small. The illustrations and story were mesmerizing, and when it came time to return the book, we did so with a great deal of regret. I highly recommend it; a brilliantly fun read for you and your child.

This review is from: James in the House of Aunt Prudence (Hardcover)
Young James spends the day with his great Aunt Prudence, and somehow the whole house is turned upside-down. Unpreturbed, Aunt Prudence saves the day and puts it all back right again in the end.
