Like a visual 15 days travel through Scotland, easter 2004 !, January 9, 2010
This review is from: James MacMillan: Symphony No. 2; Cumnick Fair; Sinfonietta (Audio CD)
Firs of all this is not a romantic pice of music but a modern Simfonietta, but one could visualize it like I did. Sinfonietta begins softly with very plasent ride trough the beatiful landscape of Scotland,in slowly moving and repeating teams. The feeling is pleasant, nice and calm.
After a while you are suddenly interupted by som big jolts as if you have axidetly driven onto a noisy motorway with heavy traffic
outside Glasgow or some other big industrial town.
Allmost brutal and forcefull you can visualize dirty, rough, industrial areas where factory macines are working in a frenetic pace
and and mixed noises come from everywhere and all directions.
Then toward the end a form of climax and we are brought back and into a more countrylike landscape again with plasant and nice
thems like in the begining. Alomst like my 15 days of holliday in Scotland a few years back. Most enjoyable! Recomeded!
