Jameson Hesse is an American writer/filmmaker. He grew up in a small town outside Harrisburg, PA.
His father, an artist who dabbled in writing, music and photography, died in a mysterious accident in Canada one month before he was born. Jameson was then born on his father's birthday and was named after him.
Although his childhood was extremely far from ideal, Jameson can recall a lot of magical experiences exploring the woods, ponds and streams around his small Pennsylvania town.
In 1979, During the Nuclear Melt down scare at the Three Mile Island nuclear facility, Jameson's town was evacuated, but most people believed it was too late. Masses of residents fell ill, yet the Nuclear Facility claimed there were no heath risks. To this day, Jameson, along with many other residents of his small town believes there was a government conspiracy to cover up the truth.
After several wild teenage years, many arrests, some time in juvenile detention and a Christian reformatory, Jameson decided to escape his hometown and move to NYC.
He lived on the upper west side of Manhattan where he studied acting, learned to play his Dad's old guitar, and spent a lot of his time indulging in his love of photography and writing poetry.
Eventually Jameson met an actress and married her soon after. As the newlyweds toured around the country with a traveling Dinosaur show called the Dinosaur Legends, they became pregnant.
Jameson and his pregnant wife ended up back in Manhattan where their first son was born.
Jameson and his wife moved from NYC to Florida several times. During this period Jameson spent a lot of time working with animal charities, a passion he's had since he was a small child.
At one point he worked closely with lions, cougars, Bengal Tigers and many other endangered wild cats, and educated children on the importance of protecting endangered species.
At the same time, Jameson was considering a career in music. He fronted several local Orlando bands in the 90's, and eventualy settled in with a New Jersey band called Mary's Magnet. They recorded one Album and broke up.
After that Jameson moved to Canada where he spent three years of seclusion in the Northern Ontario forest. This is where he believes, through a spiritual awakening, he truly found himself.
In time Jameson and his wife divorced amicably and he moved back to the US. He dabbled in several different business ventures in several different states, and spent some time in college studying psychology and philosophy. He had another son with a young lady who had a serious illness and was unable to care for the baby. So Jameson raised him from the age of two weeks old completely on his own.
Soon after that his other son came to live with him, and Jameson focused all his time on raising his boys.
They moved together to Phoenix, Arizona where Jameson began educating himself on the art of filmmaking.
Jameson currently lives in Los Angeles with his sons. He has several film and book projects in various stages of development and is promoting his Novel "Whisper of Crows".
FUN "WTF FACTS" ABOUT JAMESON
When Jameson was 13, he fell 40 feet out of a tree and landed on his head. He dislocated his arm, and received a severe concussion that rendered him nearly blind. He had to use a cane and wear a pirate's patch over his eye for a year in order to see and walk straight.
Jameson believes he will never get cancer due to his exposure to high levels of nuclear radiation as a child.
As a teenager Jameson's religious relatives believed he was possessed by the devil and considered an exorcism.
