This collection includes:

Is There Really a Human Race?: This funny and touching fantasy is a dialogue between child and parent reminding us that being human is all about making good choices and relishing life's journey.

It's Hard to be Five: Learning How to Work My Control Panel: Learning not to hit? Having to wait your turn? Sitting still?! It's definitely hard to be five, but this encouraging book makes the struggles of self-control a little easier, and a lot more fun.

When I Was Little: A Four-Year-Old's Memoir of Her Youth: In this simple, childlike celebration of personal identity, a little girl looks back on her childhood from the lofty height of four and half years, and discovers that she is a unique individual.

Tell Me Again About the Night I Was Born: "Tell me again how you would adopt me and be my parents . . . ," a heartwarming story of not only how one child is born but also how a family is born.

Today I Feel Silly & Other Moods That Make My Day, helps kids explore, identify, and even have fun with their ever-changing moods.

Where Do Balloons Go? An Uplifting Mystery: When one little boy accidentally lets go of his balloon, his imagination takes him on a journey. This delightful mystery about letting go uses imagination as a tool to deal with loss.

Editorial Reviews

About the Author

Jamie Lee Curtis is mommy to Annie and Tom. Her husband, Christopher Guest, hangs her moon by making her laugh out loud daily. She hangs out in her home with friends and family and four-legged creatures, and although she doesn't look good in one, she hangs her hat in Southern California.

From AudioFile

One of the joys of being around young children is seeing the world from a new perspective. Jamie Lee Curtis's books take some of the questions children ask, answer some, and ask even more. Most importantlyâ she asks children and adults to think and observe their world and actions. Reading with childlike enthusiasm, Curtis queries, pouts, shines, and explodes with emotion through all seven of her books. Although the pace is a little fast for younger listeners with no printed book in hand, she makes up for that with her personalized stories and comments in between. The songs and musical interludes by David Nochtern provide a lovely addition to a charming audio collection. More About the Author

Jamie Lee Curtis is the author of eight best-selling children's books that address core childhood subjects and life lessons in a playful, accessible way. Jamie finds the inspiration for her writing all around her - in the experiences of her children, her godchildren, her friends - and of course in her own life. Her first book, When I Was Little, was sparked by her then-four-year-old daughter's boast that she was no longer "little." Tell Me Again About the Night I Was Born, a celebration of adoption and the start of a new family, was inspired by the adoption of her own children. And as an author, of course Jamie loves big words and knows that words have power. Her latest book, Big Words for Little People, gives young children the knowledge and power of their own "big words." All of Jamie's best-selling picture books are illustrated by Laura Cornell: Big Words for Little People; Is There Really A Human Race?; It's Hard To Be Five: Learning How To Work My Control Panel; I'm Gonna Like Me: Letting Off A Little Self Esteem; Where Do Balloons Go? An Uplifting Mystery; Today I Feel Silly and Other Moods That Make My Day; Tell Me Again About The Night I Was Born; and When I Was Little: A Four-Year-Old's Memoir of Her Youth. Jamie is also well known as a film actress, with starring roles in such acclaimed films as Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Freaky Friday, True Lies, Trading Places and A Fish Called Wanda. Jamie is the mother of Annie and Thomas and is married to actor/director Christopher Guest. They live in California.

4.0 out of 5 stars A KEEPER FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS, October 6, 2004
If ever there was a Hollywood California golden girl, it may well be Jamie Lee Curtis. With Janet Leigh for a mom and Tony Curtis for a dad she could easily have opted to just be, enjoying the accolades and attention reserved for the offspring of stars. Not this gal! She struck out on her own proving herself to be a more than capable actress and writer.

Married for 16 years to Christopher Guest, the couple have two adopted children. Her children's books tell the story of her understanding and concern as their children grew. With intelligence and wit she has penned a series of very popular books addressing issues of concern to all children and parents. Six of them are collected on this CD; happily it's also performed by Ms. Curtis.

Included are the following titles:
"Tell Me Again About The Night I Was Born" - an expression of how very special an adopted child is.

"It's Hard to Be Five: Learning How to Work My Control Panel" - encouraging ways a child can learn to behave appropriately.

"When I Was Little: A Four-Year-Old's Memoir of Her Youth" - an appreciation of developing skills.

"Today I Feel Silly & Other Moods That Make My Day" - a guide to youngsters' feelings and how to accept them.

"Where Do Balloons Go: An Uplifting Mystery" - an adventurous balloon story

""I'm Gonna Like Me: Letting Off A Little Self-Esteem" - there's whimsy and wisdom in this reminder of how important it is to like yourself.

This is a CD to be enjoyed by both adults and children - over and over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars My child loves this CD, October 17, 2007
This review is from: The Jamie Lee Curtis CD Audio Collection (Audio CD)
I'll be honest. This CD is not my favorite. But my 3-year-old LOVES it. LOVES LOVES LOVES it--because throughout the whole CD, JLC talks to her. For her, the narration is perfect. The tone is perfect. The content is perfect. And she loves that JLC asks her questions and tells her stories.

For that reason, I highly recommend it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring, boring,boring, March 3, 2007
This stories do not keep little audience motivated. My kids did not last 5 minutes listening the CD. (And they loooove to listen audio books...) Jamie Lee Curtis is not good as storyteller she is rather boring. Her voice expresses no emotion in any part of the CD. I would NOT recomend anyone to waste money in this CD. It is awful!!
