This review is from: Jamo Sub 250 Subwoofer (Single, Black) (Electronics)
I am a long term fan of the Jamo's products: a European manufacturer that made audiophile speakers. As they are not so known here in US, the prices are great and you can easily find a real bargain for his products.
Let go know for the Sub review: This is a multipurpose product that could fit very well for you Home Theater, for gaming and for Stereo listening. The bass is present, deep, precise .... The design is discreet and can fit in many places of your room. Be mind that this is an 8" subwoofer, with a 250W amplifier. So if you are a big fan of bass and have a big room, maybe you have to consider move up to a more powerful option like Jamo C80 SUB Subwoofer (Single, Black) but more expensive of course. For me I wanted this sub for my home cinema and gaming, and I'm more than happy with the performance, precision and the price of this. An equivalent Kilpsch subwoofer can cost twice as much as these. Hope this helps. PS: if you need help placing your sub, here's one hint: put at first your sub in the place where you normally sit for listening, turn on the sound, walk through the room and listen for the bass. When the bass' sound looks good, this is a good spot to place your new sub.

Purchased this sub to go with my Jamo E 805 bookshelf speakers. The E 805's were great by themselves, but adding the 250 subwoofer still made a world of difference. Set-up was easy. Considering the power output rating of the 805's, I adjusted the volume on the back of the sub to about 50%.
The sub's bass is deep enough for me, as I prefer a tight powerful bass presence. This sub delivers. Only an 8" sub, I was still impressed and totally satisfied with its performance and solid construction build. To complete the system I purchased an Onkyo TX-NR509 receiver, at a steal for $196.00 from Brandsmart USA. This is a system that I use in my bedroom, as my main system delivers sound through JBL speakers, using a Yamaha receiver. I am considering going to a 5.1 configuration, but not really sure. I am content with the 2.1 set up for now. This sub has more than enough power for my bedroom, and I would venture to say that it could possibly do the same for larger rooms. The price wasn't bad either. Delivery was ahead of schedule and my sub arrived in mint condition, as it was new. As far as size and placement, this sub does not hog up space and is placed on the same wall as the 805's. While listening to the sound, one could quite easily assume that the 805's are producing the bass as stand alone speakers, but not!!!!!! The frequencies blend very well together. Another outstanding construction by Jamo. I highly recommend this sub for both bookshelf and floor standing speakers.
