Don't get it just because of the laptop slot,

This has to be the best backpack... EVER. Well, probably not, but for $35 bucks, it's a bet! I put my iPad, computer (15.4" macbook that doesn't fit in the laptop slot), 2 binders, 4 note books, 2 slim paperbacks (text books) and a hard cover. Now, that's not my load, I was just testing capacity. Don't buy for capacity, it's more of a storage convenience, the laptop slot is not padded as much as I would have wanted it to be, but everything else is great!MY LOAD: draft pencil in pencil slot (can't carry in pocket due to tip that can easily bend or break), two pens (shape fine), calculator, pulse clicker, iPad (SECOND FRONT POCKET) Macbook (like 1 inch thick), 2 notebooks, small texts books. (MAIN) BINDER (like 3 inches thick), slim binder (under 1 inch) It's a comfortable load, with the padding meant for the laptop, well, it's used for my back. Hell, I have my laptop in one of the foam cases anyway... you know, in case I get hit by a car or something.

My Favorite Bookbag,

I love my bookbag. I haven't had any problems with it so far. I will second that the laptop pocket doesn't have a lot of padding. My laptop is a 15.7" so it doesn't fit in the pocket anyway (I just use a laptop pocket and slip it in my bag), so I use it for my main binder. I can fit three giant college books and my laptop into the main compartment, and in the laptop pocket I put my 1.5" main binder, tons of pens pencils and a couple smaller notebooks in the outer pocket, and in the outer most pocket, I use it as a snack pocket, in addition to some other random items, since I am constantly in class or studying. There is also a top pocket up near the back of your neck, I think it's the perfect pocket for wallet, cell phone, keys, and ipod. I was a little hesitant at first in buying the bookbag offline, due to size constraints I have had in the past with other bookbags, but this is the perfect bookbag for me and I recommend it for Commuter Students.

I ordered this book bag after my other Jansport was stolen, i love the brand because they seem to last forever. The bag i had before this was a lot more basic. I ordered this one based on looks alone and was surprised at all the great features it had after it arrived. It was a 15 inch laptop sleep in the back, which is probably great for most people, but my laptop is to large to fit. It has to large front zipper pockets to carry books. I am a college student and use this bag to haul heavy books around. It also has many pockets on the interior for misc. items such as pens, calculators etc. and a water bottle holder on the side. It also has a small pocket at the top between the the shoulder straps that i have not yet figured out what belongs there yet, possibly laptop cords? I love the backpack, and it feels much lighter on my back than the smaller more generic Jansport bags.

A very useful and durable bag for a very reasonable price,

The bag is great, very useful. There are three main pockets (which all kind of share space with each other, so if you overfill one, you're really just taking from another pocket), a tiny one up top, and a laptop sleeve, the zipper for which is on the side.It DOES fit my 15.4" Macbook Pro. Here's how you do it: slide the laptop at an angle towards the top of the bag first, then lower the rest gently towards the bottom of the bag. That said, the pocket offers some protection, but not a lot. I haven't had the misfortune of relying on it, but it doesn't feel super-protective. It sure is better than nothing, though, as I see many people doing in their bags. If you want real laptop protection, I'd still recommend this bag, but in conjunction with something like Caselogic PAS-215 15-Inch Macbook Neoprene Sleeve (Black) or Timbuk2's "Envelope Sleeve," which is what I used when I needed it. Here's a rough estimate of what I carry in it and it all fits comfortably with a little extra room for things that I may need to carry during the day: - Laptop (15.4" MBP) - iPad - AC adapters for both - A big ol' textbook (more than 2 inches thick) - A sandwich-sized tupperware for lunch - A quart-sized bag of writing utensils - An extra t-shirt, underwear, and jeans - Toiletries - A couple of trade paperbacks The bag is pretty light, which is great, and the straps are comfortable and easy to adjust. And it's really inexpensive. All in all, I haven't encountered a better bag for the price. If you're on the fence about it, just go for it.

I bought this backpack for my 5th grade daughter who likes a little bit of a Gothic/punk type look ~ She loves this backpack ~ I liked the fact that this was the best price anywhere for this one and I also like that it's a nice roomy size ~ about 19" tall and seems to be pretty durable. The shipping was really fast too.

My 8 year old 2 pocket JanSport was getting a little ragged and I wanted something a bit smaller with a laptop pocket. I don't take the wear on the old pack as a bad sign. I used it daily to haul around laptops (out lived 3 of them, one of which was 15lbs), their charges, laptop cooling mats, variety of computer mice, cameras, books, food, cloths, anything and everything I own that could fit into it. It's still in one piece, the zipper on the smaller pocket is pulling away from the fabric of the bag and the material is getting thin in the base of the main pocket but still doesn't have any holes. It's a well loved bag but I wanted more security and updated.I started looking at the models they currently have out via their main website and looked around to see what the online retailers had for sale. One of the hardest things about bag shopping online seems to be the availability of pictures. One picture of the outside case really doesn't meet ideal of what the products primary purpose is of carrying and organizing stuff. So I started by searching based on aesthetics and provided information and really liked the "Wasabi" variant. I liked the simple look and color scheme. It was going to be an upgrade in main pockets (3 + laptop cavity). It has the mesh net on the side for bottled drinks. Actual hands on review: Straps are comfortable. It has a full length zipper on the left hand side for the laptop cavity. My 11.6 inch netbook with neoprene sleeve is swallowed up with plenty of room to spare. The main pocket cavity fits my two giant text books with room to spare for another one plus notebooks. The smaller main cavity is spacious enough to hold smaller books and guides and contains my only gripe about this bag. The model I'm retiring had deep pen/pencil pockets so they wouldn't shake loose as well as a zipper compartment over the the biggest inline pocket, which was great for small items I didn't want mingling at the bottom of it's parent pocket. It's not the end of the world and I also have an entire 3rd pocket to squirrel stuff away in. It feels durable and JanSport still stands by their lifetime guarantee so I'm sure it will last as long if not longer then my first beloved JanSport backpack.

Durable and Long-Lasting,

I have abused my wasabi backpack for 4 years now. I've carried heavy loads and over loaded this backpack everyday that I've been in school. Sadly, it is developing a small tear at the bottom. But after all it's been through, I say that this is the best backpack I ever owned. It can carry so much stuff and stays durable for a long time. I probably overused this bag but under normal conditions, it can last for much longer. i am definitely buying a new wasabi bag.

I purchased this for my wife as we are going on our honeymoon and wanted backpacks to carry stuff on shore exursions. We were concerned about the size in from the picture but when we got it, we were very pleasantly surprized about its size. Very sturdy, Comfortable straps, Finger loops for walking/Hiking, MP3 Pouch, water pouch and a few other nice things.. was def a good value and we hope to get a long time of use with this Jansport bag..

I really like this backpack, a lot! As soon as I got the package, I opened it right away. The pack was well protected, and in great condition. After I opened it, I started putting in my school stuff in the main compartment: A notebook, a folder, a book, and my umbrella. There is plenty of room for more! In the small compartment I put my wallet in. Perfect fit! In the middle compartment, I haven't put anything in yet. In the top one, I put in my hand sanitizer, and it has room for more stuff. Now came the laptop compartment. I have a 15'6 laptop. What I did is put it in vertically first, then turned it horizontally. It takes a few seconds to do it, but it fit that way. It's harder to take out, but it eventually fit. It could be a hassle, but I don't mind it. What matters to me is that it fit. I recommend this backpack :)

I have been using this pack since the day I got it and am very pleased with it's many compartments and durability. It does not have the cushion pocket for a laptop, but as long as I am careful with it and don't throw it around I will still be carrying it in there. |
