Ripped easily!,
This review is from: JanSport Wheeled Superbreak Classics Series Wheeled Daypack (Sports)
This is a great, roomy bag. But after only a few months of my 9 year old using it at school, the outside corners haved ripped out. He does not even change classes with it! Only uses it during carpool, going and coming to school!
Now we have to send it in for warranty, although it is probably not under warranty due to "normal wear and tear", or we have to buy another bag. We had previously tried buying a cheap rolling backpack and that one ripped. So, I thought buying an expensive bag with a warranty would be better. Oh, well...

This looked like a nice sturdy back pack for my son. He has CF and is smaller than most kids so he has a real hard time carrying all the books he has in school so I thought this rolling back pack would be great. It has been great, he loves it but he's only had it for 2 weeks and already has worn holes in the bottom, I think it's his fault for trying to roll it the wrong way but...there are holes on both sides already.

Happy Customer,

My son, a third grader, is very happy with his backpack. So far, it has held up very well in the month that he has used it. It is very strong, durable and attractive bag. The best part is the strong plastic protective covering that is on the bottom. It protects the bag when going up and down stairs or rough terrain. It has two pocket compartments which seems very functional. However, it would be nice to have additional compartments like many other backpacks that I have seen. Despite this lack of additional compartments it is still very functional and we're very pleased with its durability.

Very Happy with product so far. Love the fabric and seems very sturdy. My 4th grader has been using it for 1 month and so far it is standing up to daily "abuse" to and from school!

If you're considering buying this Jansport backpack, it is a very sturdy and long-lasting product. My reason for writing this review, however,is to warn any potential buyers interested in the navy blue pin stripe back pack as shown in the picture. I ordered it, and I received a plain navy blue back pack, not the one shown. If you read product color it only says "navy", not navy pin stripe. I went by the picture and not the color description. Since there isn't a separate picture for a plain "navy" backpack, please assume that if you order the navy pin stripe, you'll get a plain navy one. Other than this instance my experiences buying from Amazon have been excellent.

Awesome Backpack!,

I bought this backpack for my daughter's 2008-2009 school year. It held up VERY well, and it took quite a beating at times. She had so many books, and this backpack gave us a lot of space to put everything. I bought a different brand the previous year, and it didn't even last the entire school year. The material on the Jansport was great--very durable. And, the handle was very sturdy and didn't bend like our previous one by Dickies. Lastly, the wheels were very smooth and held up well even over the roughest terrain. I am definitely buying another one this year!

Exceeds Expectations,

This backpack is great! The quality is top notch. The wheels are so easy to roll. I bought two of these for my twin daughters who love them. The design is much cuter in person. I could not be happier with this purchase.

I bought this backpack for my 7 yr old who seems to go through backpacks like tissues. Her last one, while snazzy, trendy and colorful, lasted only three months before the wheels were crushed under the weight of her school folders--it was a cheap model from the local discount store. I finally couldn't tolerate the scraping of the backpack on the ground any longer and bought a new one. I bought the JanSport Superbreak Classics Series Wheeled Daypack in Navy for several reasons:
1. It was recommended by another mother as being sturdy. 2. The navy was most affordable and is one of the school's colors. 3. My kid has lots of folders and books to bring home on a daily basis and her only requirement was to have a rolling bag. 4. I wanted a backpack that wouldn't tip over and spill out its contents. So far, she has used the bag for several weeks and it is holding up very well. The wheels are smooth and quiet. The fabric is strong and durable and the fabric handle at the top is useful in hauling the bag in and out of the car. The rolling handle seems sturdy and is easy to raise and lower. Best of all, the bag is weighted at the bottom so it doesn't tip. The only negative is that the bag is a bit heavy for my 7 yr old, much heavier than her old one. Even so, she will grow into it if it lasts that long!

a little disappointed in an otherwise very nice backpack,

I ordered this backpack per my daughter's request. The backpack is roomy and durable looking and the handle does extend to a plenty long enough length for an adult, however, customers need to be aware that THE HANDLE WILL NOT COLLAPSE COMPLETELY INTO THE BAG when the release button is pushed. The photo is a true representation when it shows the handle extending above the backpack. If you unzip the interior wall zipper you will find two release buttons on the handle slides inside the wall of the pack that will allow the handle to be completely stored inside the pack. I thought there was a defect in the product when we received it and so reported it and sent it back for an exchange. The replacement arrived in @ two days but it opperates exactly the same way, so I suppose it is a glitch in the design. Other than that little drawback, the back pack seems to be well made and attractive.
