My daughter chose this messenger bag because of the print, but we hadn't realized it wasn't a regular size messenger bag. That was our mistake for not looking at the product dimensions, but it never occurred to me that a bag labelled as a "messenger bag" would be so small. She cannot fit her folders or homework book in it. We have found another use for it, but she was disappointed nonetheless.

It's tiny (cannot fit an 8.5x11 single subject notebook) and kind of cheap-looking. I've had other items from Jansport which had a much higher-quality fabric.

My daughter was desperate for a messenger bag, and this one seemed like a good choice. Although this bag is cute, it doesn't actually hold very much. She can fit her lunch and a couple small books. It doesn't even really hold a normal size folder without bending it in... This is not a good choice for a school book bag.

This bag is great, the 4 stars are because it is smaller than I hoped for. It does seem like sturdy but, does not hold quite enough.

My daughter loves this. It is small and light weight but cute for the smaller girls.

this bag was bought for my 15 yr old son,,thought it was quite efficient and durable for carrying small amount of books on certain days instead of his normal back pack

My wife really likes it. It's not that big so you can't carry your notepads in it. It's more like a general purpose street bag. My wife carried it on our trip to Canada. She loves it.

This is a cute little tote that I bought for my active days with the kids. It was inexpensive and works great. The strap is adjustable and can be used as a crossbody. The body of the tote itself doesn't have form which is also great because it's not a "little box" you're carrying around. It's like a little backpack purse. It has a zipper and then a velcro flap closure which can be annoying at times but I'm ok with that.

I bought this bag before I studied abroad in Europe... this bag was a lifesaver and I adored it! It was perfect for traveling - I could keep all my important documents close at hand without wearing an awkward money belt. Because the bag hung over my neck and was close to my body, I never ran the risk of being pick-pocketed. It's a great size so that you can fit essentials and extras--I often used mine to carry a water bottle, ipod, cell phone, brush, maps, wallet, camera, my lunch, and more all at once! As a young traveler I adored this bag and was so thankful to come across it! It served me well and has now been all sorts of places - New Orleans, London, Paris, Dublin, Edinburgh, the French Rivera... a great constant companion. :) Like all Jansport its mostly waterproof which was wonderful for rainy days in the UK. Couldn't have asked for better :)

When you view this item online on any site, it looks as if it's a nice size. Almost looks as if its able to fit a collage ruled notebook, but its not. The measurements might be accurate, but because the photo is blown up in size, it appears to be much bigger than it really is. It's always best when compared to something else. I've never been mislead by other products I've bought online, but this one looks like something a younger sibling would use. Don't me wrong, I'll more than likely still use it, under the circumstances that I bought it for my traveling, but I could have used a purse for the amount it holds, verses the impression I had. All in all, good bag, JanSport quality, just smaller then appears to be.
