In this program, consider whether wine expresses a particular spot on the globe, what the French call terroir, or the ambitions and capabilities of the people who made it. Then visit the Napa Valley, where paradise on earth is under threat, as a result of a tiny louse.
Highlights include:
- Wine and health - how wine can do you good
- The king, queen and pope of Vosne-Romanee Domaine de-la Romanee-Conti, Lalou Bize-Leroy and Henri Jayer in the heart of Burgundy.
- Oregon Pinot Noir - beating Burgundians at their own game?
- Organic wine - hocus pocus or the future of the planet?
- Phylloxera - the louse that's eating California's vineyards.
- Wine production as the ultimate personalized farming.

Interesting but not overly informative,
By Brian Michael Stevens (Providence, RI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jancis Robinson's Wine Course - Pinot Noir and Merlot [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Jancis Robinson takes the viewer on a interesting tour of current winemaking practices but the video lacks the thoroughness and specificity that I had expected from the prolific wine writer. Nonetheless, the video set was fairly informative and quite interesting...well worth your time for the price.
