Interesting in a historical sense, comparing similarities to and differences from today's society. A good compilation of Addams' writings and philosophy. Some of the content was tough to get through because of the depressing issues. I wouldn't say I "enjoyed" reading the book, but it was definitely informative and gave me a lot of things to think about. I read this book in combination with Elshtain's Jane Addams and the Dream of American Democracy: A Life, which was another good read.
