About the Author

en Talty co-created Cool Gus Publishing with NY Times Best-Selling Author Bob Mayer, and runs the technical side of the company. She is a published romance author, and teaches Creative Writing at various writing conferences across the country. Jen grew up in Rochester, NY, a city with the highest murder rate per capita in the entire state. With notorious cases such as The Alphabet Murders, The Genesee River Killer (Arthur Shawcross), The Murder of Kali Ann Poulton by Mark Christi, and the case of funeral homes stealing body parts from corpses awaiting cremation, Jen became fascinated by the darker side of human nature. She brings this fascination to her romances, creating dark villains who wreak havoc on the hero and heroine, and producing page-turning suspense. Cool Gus Publishing was formed as a vehicle to launch Bob Mayer's backlist into digital publication. It was built on the notion that writers produce the product, readers consume the product and everything else is in between. The 21st century has brought the rise of the digital author. It is time to take control. Write It Forward, a division of Cool Gus Publishing was formed because both Bob Mayer and Jen Talty believe the two most important people in the publishing business are the writer and the reader. The key to being successful in a business where 99% of what is submitted or self-published is rejected or fails is education and understanding. Write It Forward is dedicated to giving writers the tools and information they need to increase their chances of success. It truly is a great time to be an author. Print this

This is a well written suspenseful mystery with some romance and a couple of hot sex scenes just to keep life interesting. I love the heroine who has survived an abusive childhood and being kidnapped and raped. She is now an FBI agent and she and her partner-and love interest are now looking for her still active rapist who also raped and killed her partner's sister. The mystery was pretty well done with a good twist in the end. I enjoyed the pace of the story-moderate to fast-with a few breaks between the periods of action for the characters to interact and us to get to know them. This is a good read and I recommend it.

Great plot, engaging characters and enough twists and turns to keep any reader up all night. A thoroughly unexpected ending and enough secrets through the book to keep you reading. Well done.

Special Agent Travis Brown is still haunted by the murder of his sister. Travis believes that the man who was sent to prison for the crime is not the man responsible for his sister's death, so Travis is obsessed with finding the real killer. Travis's only hope is that one of the victims survived her ordeal at the hands of the killer and then when the FBI arrived on the scene she disappeared, this mysterious Jane Doe could give Travis the answers he is looking for, the key to finding the killer, but first Travis must find her.

Shauna Morgan is a new agent who is partnered with Travis. Shauna knows that the man who was found guilty of killing Travis's sister is not the man who did the crime. Shauna has joined the FBI to stop living in fear and to use what happened to her in the past for the greater purpose of helping others.

When Travis and Shauna meet there is a mutual physical attraction between them. Travis may be attracted but he has a feeling that Shauna is keeping something from him.

What is Shauna's secret?

This is a romantic suspense novel, set in Albany, New York, with a superb storyline. You do learn a lot about the two main characters early on in the story which adds to the tension and keeps the reader hooked. With some steamy love scenes and twists in the plot, all in all this book is a good read.

This book kept me up because I just didn't want to put it down. It is one of those books that pulls you in from the beginning. The characters are so real that as I was reading I felt like I was right in the room with them. Lots of good twists and turns in this book. I fell in love with Travis and Shauna. I am hoping that they will work together on another exciting case and I can read about it.

Within the first couple of chapters it was easy to figure out how it would end....just lots of sex in between the chapters. So not the suspense filled book I thought it would be!

The suspense is on from page one. This book has it all, murder, twists and romance. The chemistry between the Shauna and Travis is perfectly tainted. You'll end up cheering for them and hoping everything works our knowing that secrets really can destroy a great thing. This book will have you guessing until the end.
The attention to detail is priceless, the hero, Travis is a strong man who remains a gentleman throughout. And the heroine, Shauna is equally as strong minded, but with a sensitive side. When you mix it all together you get a great read. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I loved it so much, I purchased Rekindled as well.
Fantastic!
