gentle and encouraging,

I've always been a reluctant exerciser. This is the first video I turn to when I want to start exercising again. The music is classical, Jane Fonda speaks slowly, clearly and quietly, her explanations of the movements are clear, and her form is long, graceful and very clear (perhaps because of her ballet training it is easier to follow Jane's movements than anyone else in this video classroom). These stretching and toning exercises are relatively easy to do but provide just enough challenge for a beginner or intermediate, and I still break into a sweat when following this tape. I choose this tape when I want to ease into a new exercise routine or when I'm tired and need a gentler workout or sometimes in conjunction with an aerobics video where I thought they didn't provide enough stretching. I feel taller and longer and more relaxed and more confident every time I follow this 20 minute exercise tape. And because I it is gently challenging yet still a relatively simple one to follow, it encourages me to want to exercise more. High Praise * * * * *

Excellent program for injured and disbled people,

I began using this video after a spinal cord injury, surgery and epsiodes of paralysis. I could barely walk and saw an osteopath or a chiropractor 2-3 times a week. When I began this program, I learned how to adjust my own back, gently, withouth the trauma of the doctor's office. I went from adjusting my spine 17 times a day to 2-3 times a day. It strengthened and aligned my back, loosened up tight and underused muscles due to my disability and gave me some control over my situation.

This is a good workout if you don't feel like jumping around on a certain day, or anything like that. The first time you do it, you'll find the arm work, or plee-a's a little frustrating, if you haven't done any of Jane's other vidoes, but as you do it more and more, you'll feel like you are acually apart of the class, because it'll get eaiser and eaiser.If you do this workout with Jane Fonda's 'New' Workout, and you do both tapes for more than a week, you'll see definite results in weight loss!!!! This is a nice, relaxing video that'll help you warmup or cool down.

Relaxing,

Even though this is a short video, the workout, though mainly stretches is still effective. This is the first video I bought of Jane's and it really helped improve my flexibility and spurred me on to get more of her wonderful videos. I recommend this video for all fitness levels.

I have used this tape on and off for years. It's always the one I choose when my back is sore, or just because I love doing it! I have great balance because of this tape. I love Jane Fonda's tapes and am buying more to replace the ones I have worn out. This one is very easy to do, even if you haven't exercised for awhile.

This video is excellent for beginners. The stretching exercises and movements is just the beginning needed for advancement to low impact aerobics. This tape is suitable for the elderly, those with arthritis, or fibromyalgia.

I started using this video in l989. For several years I was faithful and the stretching and posturing exercises here kept me in good form. When I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and arthritis and a daily regimen of exercise was recommended that did not include aerobics, I again turned to this video. I am 57 years old and find this video incorporates almost all of the exercises my doctor has recommended. The routine incorporates stretches that help maintain full-range of motion and balance. Both of these are essential as we age. This routine is gentle enough to be done daily, and yet has enough repetitions to make it really beneficial as a true start-up routine or an excellent maintenance routine for seniors.

Really good way to get back into exercising!,

I checked this video out from the local library, because I'm looking for a way to get back into excercising. I started exercising with Jane when I was ten years old (I'll be thirty this summer), but I've gotten out of the habit since college. This video is a great, low-impact way to start working on flexibility and minor strengthening.The video is a little dated. After all, it was made in 1987. The quality of the exercise routine is ageless, though. I wish there were a few more spot exercises, like abdomen and thighs. This will get me back on the path to fitness, though, with relatively minimal pain.

Great Workout for Flexibility,

This workout is only 25 minutes but very effective.I like to do it on easy days when I am sore.I also like to use it to relax me at night time when I am tense.It has a lot of special breathing technique with stretching that leaves your body feeling wonderful.After doing this workout I feel relaxed and it calms my nerves.It also has a lot of ballet inspired moves on it,like with other Jane Fonda videos.There is no jumping around on this workout,but there is alot of toning.There is a lot of toning for the arms,waist,abs ans buttocks.The toning is pretty effective.The arm moves and the buttocks tucks really start to burn.This is also a good workout for somebody who is short on time.It is very good for people who are first starting out with workout video,it might be hard to balance and get some of the moves at first but when you do it is really fun.I love this video, I alternate with other Jane Fonda Workouts and other workout tapes I use.It is a must for any workout junkie.
