This review is from: Janelas Abertas (Audio CD)
Carol Saboya is the daughter of Antonio Adolfo, a great pianoplayer and composer. She has a lovely voice and is a great interpreter of a song. Nelson Faria is a wonderful guitar accompanist, and this is quite an album. All the songs are by Jobim, and the choice is off-beat, omitting all the best known. There are some gems here, though I could have done without Chansong and Bonita, two of Jobim's weakest songs - they do show that Ms Saboya sings very well in English as well as Portuguese, however. She has a great future. |
