This is the Janet Jackson "Janet" Album 2CD Book Collector's Edition. This is from 1993 and was released on Virgin Records.

This item is in the style of a book with color pictures and lyrics to the songs on the Janet Album. At the back of the book are 2 CD's, the second of these CD's has some rare tracks/remixes. The cover of this book has Janet in one of her most famous poses with her boyfriend (at the time), his hands partially covering her breasts).

About the album:

Why is Janet Jackson's "Janet" one of the best albums since..., well, since ever? Perhaps it's because Michael's kid sister is smart enough to realize that sex, hooks, and beats are what matter in dance pop. Or perhaps it's because the sexuality Janet radiates through her sweet melodies and hip-tugging grooves. After her posture as a sociocultural analyst on 1989's Rhythm Nation 1814, Janet has returned to her strength--using her odd mix of girlishness and maturity to make dance numbers about personal relationships ring exceptionally true.

The album is full of killer singles, starting with such proven cuts as the extremely slinky "That's the Way Love Goes" and rock-guitar-driven "If," and featuring such hits as the Prince-like "This Time," the Motown-like "Because of Love," the breathy ballad "Where Are You Now" and the inspired Stax cover, "What'll I Do.
