5.0 out of 5 stars ~ A GOLD MINE OF RARE JANET JACKSON REMIXES ~
In 1994, I'd heard an uptempo, R&B version of Janet Jackson's "Anytime Anyplace" during a noonday mix on 106 KMEL in San Francisco. To this day, I've cherished the tape I recorded it on, wondering when I'd ever hear it again. In January 2002, I did hear it again: on this album, which boasts two (count 'em!) versions of "Anytime Anyplace".

Then in early 1996, I heard...

3.0 out of 5 stars It was alright
I saw this album in my local town shopping centre in a popular record shop and I bought it because I already had the original "Janet." album. I did not expect much from it, as it was a remix album, but I bought it anyway to support one of my favourite artists. I was not left dissapointed I must say, and i'm glad to proudly add the remixes to my Janet collection, but I...

5.0 out of 5 stars ~ A GOLD MINE OF RARE JANET JACKSON REMIXES ~, February 5, 2002
This review is from: Janet Remixed (Audio CD)
In 1994, I'd heard an uptempo, R&B version of Janet Jackson's "Anytime Anyplace" during a noonday mix on 106 KMEL in San Francisco. To this day, I've cherished the tape I recorded it on, wondering when I'd ever hear it again. In January 2002, I did hear it again: on this album, which boasts two (count 'em!) versions of "Anytime Anyplace".

Then in early 1996, I heard KMEL (yet again) play an R&B-ish UK remix of one of my favorite Janet songs, "Where Are You Now". I cherished THAT tape as well (I recorded it) for years until when I heard to my surprise that it's track #8 on this album...and those are just two tracks, folks.

The rest of the album is "so worth it" because these tracks are pretty darn rare. This also included "On and On", a bonus track that was only previously available on the "Anytime Anyplace/Throb" single in 1994. We also get "70's Love Groove" which was only previously available as a B-side to the "You Want This" single.

There's more. For the house music fanatics (which is probably the majority of you), you get an insanely mischevious "Throb" remix, and more in the form of "If", "You Want This", and "That's The Way Love Goes". The only weak track is the "Because Of Love" remix - no verses.

As someone else mentioned, she should have included "One More Chance", a Jacksons remake that was the B-Side to Janet's "If" single, but oh well. The album is still 100% satisfaction for those who a) appreciate a good remix, and; b) appreciate a good JANET remix.

Thanks for reading!

C.H.R.

P.S. The 2nd version of "Anytime Anyplace" is the slow R. Kelly version (think of "You're Body's Callin" from R. Kelly's 1994 '12 Play' album to get an idea).

5.0 out of 5 stars The Remixes Are Tight, August 11, 2000
This review is from: Janet Remixed (Audio CD)
janet. REMIXED is a great album that contains remixes from her hits from the janet. album, as well as bsides which didnt make the album cut. Among the best remixes include You Want This, If, That's The Way Love Goes, Anytime Anyplace, Where Are You Now, pretty much every remix. The only one I didn't enjoy was the Because of Love remix, but its still nice. The bsides are great too, And On And On is a great summer song, 70's Love Groove is a great song about making love. I wish the CD included the great bside One More Chance, its on the If Single if you can find that. Overall this album is a must for fans of Janet!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is it, January 6, 2006
This review is from: Janet Remixed (Audio CD)
I was always a Janet fan, had the albums went to the concerts etc.... But it wasn't till VR, I became a die hard fan! Anyway, rediscovering an artist is amazing and hearing these remixed really made me take a step back and say "whoa!"

I think the best remix on here is CJ's remix of "Anytime Anyplace," he also did "That's The WaY Love Goes." I remember someone commented on, why did Janet let CJ remix her songs. Well, he is a tight remixer, duh. CJ also remixed some songs for my other favorite artists the london based band Incognito and he pimped their single too!

Get this, because most of the singles from the "janet" era are out of print just like her earlier singles.

Now, if we could get a remix album for "Rhythym Nation," ha, like that will happen. A girl can dream right?

4.0 out of 5 stars I'm usually not into remix albums..., September 20, 2003

...and bought this one only because at that time I collected everything Janet & because of the 2 bonus songs, but it was worth it. The album (which has a very sexually oriented picture on the cover: Janet's breasts covered by a man's hands) features nine remixes of her erotic R'n'B songs including "That's the Way Love Goes", "If", "Because of Love" and "You Want This". It has two remixes of "Any Time, Any Place", from which the R. Kelly Remix is the better. My special favorites are the romantic "Where Are You Now" (remixed by Nellee Hooper) and the dynamic "What'll I Do" (remixed by Dave Navarro). Both are better than the original versions on the "janet." album.
The bonus songs are good too, although not as good as the remixes. "70's Love Groove" was her most erotic song till the release of the "All For You" album.

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost Perfect...They Forgot To Add 'One More Chance'!, September 24, 2006

'janet.remixed' is a nice supplemental CD for fans who own Jackson's best selling 'janet' disc. Available only as an import, 'janet.remixed' features a stunning array of remixes, but the two B-sides ('And On & On' and '70's Love Groove') are worth the price of the CD. 'janet.remixed' could've been a 5 star CD if they included 'One More Chance', which was the B-Side to the 'If' single. I remastered my 'janet.remixed' CD to include 'One More Chance' as track #12, and there's more than enough space on the CD! Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome, awesome album, April 4, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Janet Remixed (Audio CD)
this album contains remixes of her hit singles from 1993's janet album, and they are so good that some of them sound just as good as or even better than the originals. Also included are 2 tracks that didn't make the album. I wish her remake of the Jacksons One More Chance and a remix of Again were included on the CD, but overall I love the CD and it is worth it for every fan of janet and good r&b/dance music

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Remixes, March 14, 2002
This review is from: Janet Remixed (Audio CD)
JANET REMIXED is a compilation of remixes from her janet. era. The remixes are well paced and fast, but its not only remixes here. As well, another incentive to buy this is the bonus previously unreleased bsides, such as the summer groove "And On And On", or the love fest "70's Love Groove". Other bsides which didn't make the cut here is her touching rendition of "One More Chance" which was written by brother Randy Jackson, but if you can find the cassette you can find that song, and its also on the maxi single for If. The remixes are good for the most part. There is a really nice remix for "Where Are You Now" which oddly enough was never a single, perhaps in the UK at some point, but its a great song anyways. The only remix which isn't up to par is the 8 minute plus remix of Because of Love, which seems to drag on forever. However the remixes for "That's The Way Love Goes", "If", "You Want This" and "Any Time Any Place" are beyond stellar, these are great remixes you will want to hear again and again. Overall this is a nice collection to have, a little pricey, but worth it for the avid Janet fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars it's worth it!, May 30, 1999
This review is from: Janet Remixed (Audio CD)
This remix cd contains tracks remixed of off the "Janet" album, as well as some B-side's to some singles off of the album. "That's The Way Love Goes" and "If" are remixed into supreme club-kickers. E-Smoove takes "You Want This" into a way different direction than the original, he even includes MC Lyte's fun rap. This CD also includes the hard to find "Bad Yard Club" mix of "Throb". The rest of the cd is mostly slow jams. The only downfall to this disc, is the horrendous remix of "Because Of Love", a boring dub that does absolutely nothing for almost seven minutes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Janet's good stuff, June 11, 2010
By
rmcrae (Houston, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Janet Remixed (Audio CD)
Why oh why must the good stuff be only available overseas and/or out of print? A collection of remixes and b-sides from the Janet. era is a rare treat and a major must for any Miss Jackson collection. All the remixes are top-notch, but the R. Kelly mix for Any Time, Any Place takes the cake. Even steamier and more erotic than the original (as if that were possible). The b-sides are the added bonus. And On and On is a Sly and the Family Stone sampled breezy jam perfect for summer and 70s Love Groove has a sexy, laidback throwback theme with references to mood rings and the Zodiac. Odd that One More Chance is left off the cd, but you can't have it all I guess. Pick it up if you're a big fan. It's worth it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent if not outstanding collection of Janet remixes along with a few hard-to-get B-sides, January 21, 2010
This review is from: Janet Remixed (Audio CD)
This collection mainly consists of remixes taken from Janet Jackson's great 1993 album "Janet." With that being one of her best albums, it's kind of hard to improve upon songs that were so great in the first place, but this collection is hardly bad, and certainly does nothing to strip the original songs of any and all dignity. Perhaps the best reason for buying this collection, however, is getting the hard to find B-sides, because as many fans of Janet (or at least those of the classic Janet) know, just about anything she made during her best years was as good as some of her biggest hits, and this album contains the minor hits "And On And On" and "70s Love Groove." Also, I've noticed from reading some of the reviews here that people are disappointed about the absence of the song "One More Chance." If you want that song, buy the cassette of this album (if you can find it; it's scarce) and have it transferred. It's longer than a standard CD (about 95 minutes), and includes that song as well as four others that there weren't room for on the disc.
