Product Description

There are certain classic guitar tones that never get old. Maybe it was the vintage outboard studio gear, maybe the old tube mics, vintage amps and guitars, etc. JangleBox has captured that sound perfectly and put it in a box, literally. The JangleBox Silver sounds absolutely amazing. It nails the classic Byrds/Beatles clean compressed "chimey" tone. Not that you have to be playing classic rock, or a Rick 12-string, to appreciate this amazing pedal. The JangleBox Silver will also give you a great Nashville "squish" and can be used as a unique clean boost.

I got this hoping to attain the Roger McGuinn sound and it does a pretty awesome job. This pedal sounds really really good on guitar, thought can be a little bit noisy. It really does a good job of sparkling up a 6 string to the point of thinking it almost sounds like a 12 string. I also was hoping this would work well for bass, and to some extent its decent for bass, but with controls only for attack and gain it can be difficult to dial in the right amount of compression for a 4 stringer. Though i have to say that the low end still came thru loud and clear. The 3 setting switch goes from dark-normal-bright. I kept it on normal for both guitar and bass, but the bright switch was handy when i wanted to use the pedal as a boost box for solos. I kind of wish i saved up for the super janglebox that has the boost pedal added and more controls.
I also recently purchased a Diamond Compressor - which seems to be janglebox's main competitor for top of the line compression. The Diamond is a more subtle beast and lends itself to more varied situations, but the Janglebox immediately gets the bright jangle of the Byrds that i wanted when i originally purchased the pedal. I'll keep the janglebox for my guitar and use the Diamond for bass situations.

Sounds jangly. Very useful tone for the sixties sound. If you tweak the settings just right, you can make a Tele sound almost like a Ricky 12. I also run my Italia 12 string through this and it really DOES sound like a Ricky 12. But if I had known how good this worked on 6 string guitars, I could have saved myself the $500 I spent on the Italia so I could play three songs in the band that need that sound. So my advice to you is, by this before you invest in a 12 string and save yourself some dough.

JangleBox Silver Compressor Pedal I bought a 12-string guitar a few months ago and the more I played it the more I realized that it was missing...something. After researching a bit I discovered that a 12-string guitar almost requires a high quality compressor to sound its best. I chose the Janglebox (JB) Silver Compressor Pedal over others that I researched. I am glad I did! It gives my 12-string the jangle and sparkle that it previously lacked. It can also be used as a booster by turning up the "Gain" knob. I love my new sound through the JB Silver. It works great with six-string guitars as well. You can pay a lot more or somewhat less for a compressor, but the JB Silver does it for me at the right price point.

I've never had any luck with getting good tone from a comp., I bought this because I bought a Ric. McGuinn, Petty, and Campbell all use these. Long story short. It's on all the time, it makes all guitars sound sweeter. Sustain is amazing, this is a great pedal.
