Product Description

Color: Standard

The DC4030PR has 30 well thought out stitches. Included in the stitches are 6 one step buttonholes that sew a buttonhole exactly for your size button. Best of all the machine has stitch elongation which allows you to stretch a decorative stitch by up to 5 times its normal length without losing density. Direct Stitch Selection Buttons - Push the button once, and the green light shows the left stitch pictured on the button is selected. Hit the button again and an orange light indicates the right stitch on the button is selected. The letter on each button advises you what foot to use. Janome's 7 Feed Teeth Box Feeding System assures Superior Feeding! From the lightest weight fabric to heavy fabric! The DC4030PR has a bright LED Screen for easy view of stitch width and length. Easily adjust the stitch width or length by just pressing the plus or minus button. The Automatic Needle Threader is simple, just pull down the needle threader, put your thread in the hook and in front of the needle, pull back and your needle is threaded! The bobbin cover is see through to let you see if you are running out of thread! In addition, if you sew of the edge of the fabric it is jam proof. Free motion quilting to old fashion darning is easy with the drop-feed system. Do pants legs and shirt sleeves with the Free Arm Feature! Janome's Superior Automatic Tension gives incredible results on all your projects. Adjustable Presser Foot Pressure allows you to adjust the pressure on the fabric. This allows for sewing on a greater variety of fabrics. Handy Central Control Buttons: From bottom to top: Start/Stop (and slow run), Reverse, Lock Stitch, Needle Up/Down all conveniently located for your sewing pleasure. Just push the bobbinwinder to the right and the auto-declutch will automatically stop the needle from moving and wind your bobbin! The Start/Stop button allows you to sew without using the foot control!

I went looking to buy the TB30. I actually liked the graphics and all the pretty lights. Hey, might as well have a "light show" while sewing kites! I ended-up buying the new re-packaged TB30: the DC4030. Oh, I lost some of the pretty lights along with the graphics, as the 4030 is just the TB30 in a "plain, brown wrapper." But, not one ounce of functionality or quality! It's all there and it's just GREAT! It even came with a hard case, something I wanted and was glad I didn't have to buy separately. I've sewn a good 12 different kinds of fabrics on it to date. Thanks to the adjustable pressure feet, whatever I've tossed at it, it's delivered top quality stitching right back at me. No errors, no goofs, no bound-up bobbins or stitches. Just great sewing. I call it, "Janome style" when it comes to the machine's stitch quality. The SFS may be a marketing whatever, but, I'm brutally honest when I state, SFS is reality! I've sewn on other Janome machines without SFS. There is just no comparison between a Janome SFS and a Janome non-SFS. Get the SFS, you won't be sorry. Bottom line: no complaints from me. Oh, here are the machines I compared before I purchased: Brother PC210 and PC420 and the SE400 (all looked good on paper with lots of great comments, but...sorry, Brother, your quality is still in question) and the Janome 1050 and 2150 (both of these machines are close in what they offer. However, less plastic in my machine, the better I like it and these had too much plastic...in the operating mechanism. That's not to say it's wrong to do that, Brother, Singer, and Janome have been doing it a long time. But, I'll pass). I also looked real closely at the Janome Memory Craft. But, some things can't be...on my budget! Endgame: My 4030 is poised, ready to create kites, curtains, etc. right next to my Janome Serger.

Excellent machine. I bought this looking for a starter machine to get back into sewing after a 10 year respite. It's sturdy quiet and has adjustable foot pressure - great machine - the new version is the Janome DC 4030. I think you'll be very happy if you purchase. It meets all my needs except embroidery. . .

I've had mine for almost 2 years now. It's great! I've had no problems with it. It sews nice, even, very consistent stitches. It has enough variety to do almost anything you need for DIY sewing projects. I like the one-step buttonhole, and it also has a great blind hem feature.
I anticipate using this for many more years.

There are so many things I am enjoying about this machine! 1. I love the start/stop button--it starts at the beginning and ends at the end of decorative stitches! Threading the machine is easy and the auto needle threaders is great! I starting sewing right out of the box (just added thread and fabric :) . The stitches look great-- and it is very simple and quick to change feet (no tools needed) or change the bobbin. I will update again after I have completed more projects.
It actually only took 1 & 1/2 days for the sewing machine to arrive! Love the machine and have already ordered several others items from Mr. Vac & Mrs. Sew and received the same great service every time! I wish I could give you 10 stars!

I LOVE this sewing machine! I haven't been sewing for a long time and my grandmother decided it was time for me to learn to use a sewing machine. We had previously purchased a Singer Simple 2263 model which was HORRIBLE to learn on. It kept jamming, knotting the thread below the fabric and tearing the fabric. Quite frustrating and discouraging for a beginner! We returned the Singer just 2 days later and purchased this machine instead. It has been such a joy to learn on and the guidebook is very detailed and helpful. The machine is easy to set up and thread and best of all... speed control! I can set the machine at the lowest speed and even if I accidently press the pedal harder than intend, it won't speed away from me! It is quite a bit more expensive than the Singer Simple but it is well worth the money spent. I see myself sewing on this machine for many years to come.
