I purchased this sewing machine as a gift for my grand-children. When it arrived, I checked it out to make sure it worked well and was a good machine for them. I read the manual to learn about its' features and made all the stitches on a scrap of material. The machine is quiet, runs smoothly and makes beautiful stitches, plus it is lightweight and easy to transport.

I was so thrilled that I kept raving, to my husband, about what a great little machine it is. In fact, I liked it so much, I decided to keep it for myself and I had to order another one for my grandchildren.

This machine is way better than many machines that cost much more. I already have a Bernina (expensive) and a Singer Featherweight but I fell in love with this sewing machine. I would recommend it to anyone and, in fact, I did. I told two my friends about it and they each bought one.

Best machine I have owned!!!! December 10, 2010
I learnt to sew at the age of 5 and sewed in the Apparel sewing business for over 25 years. I sewed on every machine out there. Ten years ago I started my own small dog clothes business. Three years ago I decided to invest in a new machine, after reviewing Berninas and how they were Swiss made, decided to invest over a thousand dollars into one! Much to my disappointment the machine did not live up to the reviews I read! Yes the Bernina can sew most everything, but what they fail to tell you, you must buy a presser foot for all different fabrics and the feet are NOT cheap. Later found out my machine was NOT Swiss made but made in China, which Bernina fails to tell you! After years of cursing with the Bernina, I decided to try this machine! From the time I turned it on was so impressed!! The ease of threading (both bobbin and needle) The feeding of the fabric is just amazing! I sewed through cotton, satin stretch knit and Leather with no adjustment of anything! Goes from thin fabric to thick with not problems, It actually sewed 3/4 inch of fabric swatch with no problems! It also has a clear bobbin covering so you don't need to run out of bobbin thread any more with just inches to sew! At the price I paid for this machine could of bought 4 for the price I paid for the Bernina!
This machine is great for the beginner, with 3 speed settings or the advanced sewer! If you are looking for a good basic quality, friendly machine this is the machine to invest in!!!

Buy a Janome November 21, 2010

I have had Wards, Sears, Bernina, and Janome sewing machines. My Janomes have been my favorites. They make a wonderful tight stitch. They are easy to use, quite and smooth. This one is very nice. I purchased it through Amazon as a reconditioned machine. It is new. Everything is flawless. I use it to take to quilt guild for piecing. My 8 year old granddaughter has been learning to sew on it. She loves the decorative stitches. It is simple to operate and any level sewer can use well. I would buy it again.

Janome for my home!
Very good, solid basic machine. Easy to operate, fun to use. I use this as a standby machine, but it would probably be a good machine for a beginner.
